Devastated , hardest decision any one can make.

Post by X.Playa »

So since May 19 my best friend/mate was in comma . The damage she sustained in her brain was too much , the Dr bluntly said she will never wake up and function , she will just be fed and artificially kept a live , through 2 tubes in the throat. The Dr asked since you have been together would she choose that kind of life, i said no , she would rather be let go. Her biological family in the other hand with religion/duca wants her to be living like that for the rest of her natural life , forcefully fed , artificially be kept a life , in a eternal coma. No parts of her body moves , only she blinks and chokes or coughs , that is it. The brain is so much damaged she daily convulses into fits.

Do somalis understand , once your brain is finished despite the heart beat and breathing and little facial movement or eye blinks , you are done finished and should let go?? That i couldn't get across to the family , and the nurses and doctors are bewildered. Keeping a person a life in that stage is torture .

You admit this to be the hardest decision one could ever make, yet that does not seem to stop you from faulting the family for taking the decision to keep their daughter on life-support. Adiga family ma tihid, keep your opinion on the matter to yourself, and let the family deal with the situation as they see fit.

As we speak we're dealing family member in brain dead coma more than 15 years. In your case is similar to ours because brain death is not the same as coma, because someone in a coma is unconscious but still alive and your friend have suffered brain injured. I know what you mean but I can't let it go. I hope your friend have registered organ donor registration office.

War waxaad ku dhahdaa qadar ALLE aqabala, gaalada daawooyinkooda iyo machimankoodu wey shaqeyn waayeen.
Marka maalin ha doortan ay quranka ku akhriyan, markaasna hala isku raaca siduu ALLE ka dhigi in la yeelo
lagana siibo waxaa ku dadan.

Markaa hadey neeftu ku hadho oo ALLE daweyn waa kheyr. Hadii ay sidaasi ku tagtana wakhtigeeda baa yimid.

We believe in fate as part of the religion, why not use it to steer the discussion to let ALLAH decide whether she lives instead of artificial life support.

Whoever is paying for her medical expenses will eventually make them decide whether to take it off of it or not. Its not sustainable medical care expenses wise specially if the government is paying for it.

I don't know about your country but, I personally know somebody who was that same exact situation and the state decided that they were spending too much money on a brain dead person. The medical care expenses racked up to a million in the first year alone, so you can imagine what it would be in couple years. They were forced to either they be responsible of the medical expenses or take the life support off of the person which the family chose in the end.

Eid Mubarik bro.
It's sad when vital organ systems have permanently failed and artificial life support just helps the heart beat in.

It's very sad to be honest it depends how spiritual spiritual person is . I can understand the family wanting a miracle . Because euthanasia is forbidden in Islam. Brain dead recovery is medically impossible. Allah hasahlo.

Wa xalaad xplaya May Allah give you strength in these hard times..
