If it escalates what is your take?

I think Kenya will recognise Somaliland.

They can recognise sl it won't prevent the inevitable L they're gonna get at Haque.

Kenya has a navy and could take the sea by force....however, they don't have the capability to develop the oil/gas fields....they need foreign oil companies who can be sued by Somalia.

So all in all the Kenyans are f*@ked.

First, Kenya isn't the UN for it to recognize SL. Second, recognition doesn't necessarily lead to prosperity, economic development, stability, etc (case point, oil rich South Sudan). Even without recognition, nothing is holding SL from becoming a prosperous and stable country with a functioning economy, however, it has an unemployment rate of +80%, and most of its young people would rather risk a perilous trip to Europe via South Sudan, Libya and other places than stay in their own region.

If Kenya recognizes Somaliland it will be the biggest losing point for both hawiye and daarood. And a win for Isaaq and kikiyu. How ever I don't think they will make that move because they want to appease some of the walanweyns while they still colonize kismayo and take the sea. Somalia only option is complaints against Kenya. Somaliland has already won our case is strong and we are a true nation unlike Somalia.

The sea rightfully belongs to Kenya. Go Kenya, hope you win

It is my opinion, and what I believe is the best solution in this situation.

The international court doesn't operate on beliefs.....they reach a judgement based on facts and evidence....and Somalia has all the facts and evidence to support it's case.

PS why is it the best solution for Kenya to get the disputed seas with all the oil/gas wealth it contains?

Kenya should move to jubaland , and claim the land it self . It has strong case to reclaim jubaland , somalia don't recognize the kenyansomalia border because somalia had always wanted to invade kenya. It was our pansomalism plan when we (Somaliland) Were part of the somali republic . If Kenya recognize Somaliland it's a bonus , because if they don't it's their nightmare . The only reason Somaliland joined with Somalia in 1960 was to invade both Ethiopia and Kenya , we tried and we will definitely do it again if are forced to reunite with Somalia.

Personally I think the bullying of somalia has been handed to Kenya from Ethiopia.

That means Somalia has been relegated to lower division leagues.

Secondly the sea rights were forfeited from Villa Somalia and I do beleive Villa Somalia is trying to use cosmetic surgery to hide the facts and are shedding crocodile tears.
What I am saying is Villa Somalia doesnt have the guts.

As for Xassan Sheikh the only reason he reversed the situation is because he was angry with how Kenya handled the JL issue.He was hurt by the fact Kenya did not drop Axmed Blackie for his favour.

As we speak the KDF have been stealing Somali wildlife and profeteered from deforastation of JL.Even AS demographis are changing they are more sawaxili /kikuyu kenyan agents fighting.Kenya is in bed with AS after they learnt it from Ethiopia.

Somalia will then recognize the Republic of Pwani and negotiate with it over their shared maritime border.
