Correct it is ridiculous that in 2019 we are importing potatoes from ethiopia etc. They have also started importing frozen chicken from Brazil in muqdisho which is of questionable quality.

Err.....in case you didnt realise....the country is effed up.
No roads except a few potholed stretches that dont reach the main agricultural areas.

There is no support for farmers to buy equipment, no universities to develop new seed varities and combat plant diseases and pests.

Before such endeavours is under taken, Somalia should ban imported politicians who make up the vast majority of its Cabinet and parliamentarians including the Prime Minister. Not forgetting the president who is also an imported product.

Good point. They should make residency requirement for those aspiring to hold a position in the gov. The locals are more qualified and have more right to be appointed to a position than the "imported."
