People who choose to marry cousins or from same clan beware
There is high risk of inbreeding
Re: People who choose to marry cousins or from same clan beware
You can find all sorts of videos & articles that are pro/anti such marriage, supported by scientists, researchers, doctors, etc. Our own existence started with blood brothers & sisters. Distinct races, tribes, clans, etc are the result of inbreeding.

Horta when i say english is poor is when i see this type of word "cousin" which could mean 1- inabti 2- habarwadaag 3- inadeer 4- inaeedo (i invented this one) so is the studies for all types of cousins or those from the father side or those from the mother side......and please can you show if you can a similar video or link of such opposite studies (studies pro cousin marriages) you have mentioned. Am just curious......paperino wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2019 4:22 pm You can find all sorts of videos & articles that are pro/anti such marriage, supported by scientists, researchers, doctors, etc. Our own existence started with blood brothers & sisters. Basically it boils down to; the risk of birth defects for non-cousin couples is 3%, while for cousin couples it's 1.1-2% more. There are other factors that contribute to birth defects. For peace of mind, doing a genetic test is advised even if you're not related to your future spouse.
A new study shows marrying your first cousin is not as bad as it seems
A research study done over seven years by a data scientist at Columbia University shows that it is okay to marry your first cousin as long as your children do not marry their first cousins, according to Popular Science.
The paper, which was published in the Science journal, is based on a 13 million member family tree and looks at data that was found in online genealogy profiles.
According to estimates, 4 to 7 percent of the children from first cousins are likely to have birth defects. In comparison, 3 to 4 percent of the children with distantly related parents are likely to have defects.

Its normally more advantageous to marry far from your lineage.......like a form of networking.
I'm waiting to see who wins out in Kismayo and then will marry according.
I'll probably marry one of the 0.5 as a bush wife....to have somewhere to hide out if Kismayo becomes too hot.

Your edo’s child is your inaabti. From your cousins position he’s only related to you because his mum and your dad are siblings. Meaning your dad would be his abti therefore he’s your inabti. Anyone who is related to you from your dads side is your eedo/ adeero, which are inadeer/ inabti. Anyone who is related to you through your mums side is your habaryar/ abti, meaning inabti and habarwadaag.
Re: People who choose to marry cousins or from same clan beware
This whole thing about inbreeding is false. Our religion does not say don’t marry your cousins. Some of the most noble Muslims were married to their cousins.
In Somali culture it’s ok to marry your inabti this is an old tradition, usually the 2 people would be 2 different tribes.
As for marrying your inadeer our religion does not say it’s not allowed, in fact it’s practised by other Muslims. However Somalis look down on anyone who marries his inadeer, you barely see this.
As for habarwadaags getting married from a religion point of view I think it’s still permissible however your Habaryar is like your mum, if a mum dies it’s the habaryar that is doing the breastfeeding. Unfortunately Somalis don’t see it that way because most times your habarwadaag would be a different tribe.

My dad is his abti therefore am his/her inaabti.....what i was thinking of was what is he/she to me because their mom is my EEDO so how come we don't have a word for your relation with your EEDO's children........if on the mother side you have ilamoabti from your abti and habarwadaag from your mother's sister's children.........on the father side your uncle's children are ilmadeer but your father's sister's children (your eedo) are what ? Your EEDO is not your abti!!Togdeer wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:41 amCan yaree fish&chips ka xagaa lagakeenay.jannoman wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2019 11:34 amHorta when i say english is poor is when i see this type of word "cousin" which could mean 1- inabti 2- habarwadaag 3- inadeer 4- inaeedo (i invented this one) so is the studies for all types of cousins or those from the father side or those from the mother side......and please can you show if you can a similar video or link of such opposite studies (studies pro cousin marriages) you have mentioned. Inaabtidu waa Arin kale oo soomalidu inaabtidu waxay u yaqaanin qolo kale. Laakiin majority soomalidu hablaha ay ilmaader ka yihiin iskuma taabtaan. Ilaa hadadaa aniga inaadeeer tay afaraad iyo walaashay waa isugu kay mid. Ilmaader nimadu inaan lays wasin bay ku qurux badan Tahay. Indr taa waa naagtii yadu kugu xidhi lahayd naagaha kugu haboon waa naagtaad bari lahayd asxaabtaada ninka ugu macquulsan. Hadaad idinku maryaha isu dhigatan wax badan oo aad isu ahayden baa meesha ka baxaya. Naftaada bar inay indrtaa walaasha tahay , haday ishu kaaga dhacdo shaydaan ka iska naar , haw kacsan , ha taaban , haku deyin , haw quusin . Hal mar uunbay kuu banaan tahay inaad ka ajar sataa waa marka ay raga kale isfahmi waayaan ee ay kugu dul gabawdo. Markaas madaxeeda minjaha u rog , xabaal iyo ninkeed loo kala tagye. Kkkkkk
