Hargeisa is a very large city nowadays. Bosaso also has a lot of High rise.

It's all about numbers & Mogadishu's status as the capital. Mogadishu is 3-5 times the size of the next largest city. Far more diaspora & foreigners (Europeans, North Americans, Turks, Asians, others) are in Mogadishu than any other city. They can afford to rent (at least $500/month) an apartment in a residential building with elevator. Also, much of the real estate investments happen in Mogadishu (check Darul Salaam).

In the district of the Uncircumcised (Buuryaqab) where I hail from we don't have an elevator but we do have couple of supermarkets fitted with state of the art escalators.

Because the country is underpopulated as fukk so theres no need for apartments when everyone can have a house
