Hargeisa history documentary for the new generation

Post by theyuusuf143 »

This film is for those young somalilanders or Somalians who were born after the genocide and collapse of the Somali State , those who don't know what happened, who did it and how it happened, those who born in the 21th century with silver spoon in their mouth. It shows the hunger, death and destruction of hargeisa , and how our peaple survived with nothing but only one grain "Qamadi" the narrator is asking the youth how is this place looked like before you came ? Most of them said it has always been the same.

Which means they have never seen hargeisa in state of destruction. The aim is to make them aware that it has never been the same, some people sacrificed their lives and resource to make hargeisa great again. We came a long way. For the Somalian youth this is a daily dose of reality , Many of them hear from their parents "somali way is wada dishay" to downsize the scale of Isaaq genocide by the state. In this film they can see the individuals we blame on that genocide .

Hargeisa is growing tremendously although mismanaged.

There was a time when Hargeisa only had two neighborhoods divided by the doox and people lived together unlike today with the clan segregation aka neighborhoods. Some of the neighborhoods closest to the doox used to be lush farmland with pomegranates, guavas, papayas and all kinds of fruit. The city used to have a pleasant climate similar to the climate in Gacan Libaax mountains for those of you who’ve been there.

Iidoor lack brain capacity. We lack vital infrastructure. The city design isn’t taking into account climate factors that could increase or decrease the temperature in the city.

Wind mapping and building infrastructure in accordance with the wind patterns and greenery planted strategically would cool down the temperature in the city but then again Iiidoor is Iidoor. Waa majnuun falan.

I’m out.

Can't have habar awal as president and mayor of hargeysa.

As for hageysa I was there a few years ago on my way to kismaayo.

Hargeysa alot of the xaafad don't even have running water. Some of the xaafad have low voltage lines so alot of electrical equipment wont work. While kismaayo a city 1/3 its size you can get running water to your house and full power electricity.

Xamar is the best, cheap electricity and water.

Hargeysa is badly mismanaged.

Have you ever heard an isaaq saying I went to kismaayo or bosaso or gedo lol, never cuz they don’t need to go to your wasteland regions. Yet you flock to Somaliland and then insult it after you left. Cajiib kkkk

If darod can build a city 1% of what hargeisa is, I will admit you guys aren’t useless after all.

Kismayo doesn’t have electricity or running water, bosaso doesn’t have running water except in few neighbourhoods and electricity for the few that have it is only available for few hours.

Xamar is not your city kid, ka foq dadka xoolahooda

Kismaayo has running water and electricity all over the city anyone that wants running water will get running water. As for going to hargeysa I go all over somalia sxb mostly for business.

Are you denying that most of hargeysa does not have running water?

Mogadishu is the capital city for all somalis including you.

Its good that kids learn so history don't repeat itself.

Look whats happening in Somalia, it looks like they havnt learned from their mistake and carrying with not one care. A lot ppl say forget what happened and move on, you can still move on but you should never forget the past atrocity commited by former head of somalia.

This is the reason Somaliland is peacefull becos we always remmber the dangerous wars bring and it helps us remmber to never be powerless for it to happen again. Its part of learning from past mistake.

Somaliland should do curriculum in school to teach the kids history. We can only learn from it ans be more greatful for it.
