He is well spoken not gonna lie. Personally i don't like him. I support Dahir maxamuud Gheelleh and Sheikh Shariif.

First of all his name is Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano, not Cabdiqaadir.

Second of all, FARMAAJO's decision (walaa Kheyre, walaa Fahad, walaa heblaayo had nothing to do with this...I will explain at the end) to name Taano as Qatar Ambassador was very personal and very strategic for Farmaajo.

Let me just say you're always popping off about Marehan and things you don't know anything about. First of all, I am the one that even told you about that marriage connection in another similar topic you knew even less. You probably asked around afterwards and put together more conjecture.

You're talking about Cabdirisaaq Faarax TAANO. Ilma Faarax Taano are one of the most powerful families in Marehan and Somalia as a whole.

For example, do you know who Cabdirisaaq's older brother is? IDAAJAA Faarax Taano

Here Marehan begged Idaajaa out of retirement so he can personally take the new Ugaas of Sade under his wings and teach him everything about Somali history, dhaqan, preparing him for Ugaasnimada Marehan; one of the most powerful and influential traditional leaders in Somalia.

The new Ugaas of Sade was finally deemed ready just this past summer to finally replace his old, ailing uncle who held the post temporarily for him for so long.

Now to Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano.

When the civil war happened, we all know about the rise of Al Itihad..first in Bari then in Gedo. It was the hope of all the political Islamists in the darkest time of the civil war.

Basically like when the ICU rose, it contained all the Al Shabaab types, the Hisbul Islam type, the Dam Jadeed types, the Ala Sheekh times. Basically all the political Islamist united to drive the warlords out whether these Islamists had international terrorist ambitions or were conservative nationalists.

So when Al Itihad rose and formed its very first administration in Gedo, it was the hope of all political Islam including Al ISLAAX which was the ideology of Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano and is the overall ideology of Dam Jadeed (Hassan Dh, Farax Abdikadir, Fahad Yasin, rtc).

At that time in 1994, when Al Itihad (representing all of political Islam) declared its first administration in Gedo; Islamic humanitarian aid started to flow to Somalia through through them.

At that time there was A LOT OF OVERLAP between SNF and Al Itihad even though they were two different groups with different objectives;

1. They were both led by Marehan (Gen Omar Haji Masalleh as SNF chairman and Sh Mohamed Xaaji Yuusuf as Al Itihad chairman)
2. Their support base and fighters were primarily Marehan (although the UN estimated 20% of Al Itihad were different non-Marehan)
3. They both fought to defeat USC and Aideed in southwest Somalia

CABDIRISAAQ FAARAX TAANO being a well educated moderate Islamist who spoke fluent Arabic and a degree from KING SAUD UNIVERSITY in Riyaad became the guy to organize and manage this aid for Marehan and Al Itihad.

At that time his residency was partly in the Netherlands and even came to influence European aid access.

Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano basically became a a sort of "FOREIGN MINISTER" for all the Islamic oriented humanitarian agencies working in Somalia and the man EVERYONE involved in this industry had to go through.

For instance, Mogadishu port was closed and dangerous so aid to Mogadishu was sent to LUUQ where it would be received and then the guys organized by Cabdirisaa would further pass it to the guys working in Mogadishu.

Same for Marka, Barawa, Kismaayo, Baydhabo, etc.

Cabdirisaaq was basically the spider in the spiderweb. That's how he became one of the most important connections for AS ISLAAX groups before they even had any official organization.

I am not sure but this is how Fahad Yasin may have been introduced to Islamic agencies. Through this sponsorshop with close family who were the most influential when aid starting to flow in. Also probably Hassan Sh would certainly have developed a very strong friendship then because Hassan Sheekh first named Cabdirisaaq as AMBASSADOR TO OMAN.

Anyways, we know the story of Alitihad...about how Al Islax, including Cabdirisaaq, and them would separate because of Al Itihad's extremism, that Ethiopia would invade, aid would dry up, etc etc etc.

FAST FORWARD TO 2007.

Basically Cabdirisaaq was living and working in Kismaayo having brought back Doctors Without Borders. He was working on accessing more aid to Gedo and Kismaayo before Cabdullahi Yusuf messed everything up.

The Abdullahi Yusuf government is in control of KISMAAYO after the Ethiopians kicked ICU out. Abdullahu Yusuf names a Kablalax administration headed by Col Afgaduud (MJ) and Col Koojaar (Ogaden).

This is exactly like Kismaayo today...a foreign government had troops in Kismaayo where they just removed a Islamic group and the group who rode in with the foreign army was Kablalax.

As we know, ETHIOPIA VACATED KISMAAYO AND LESS THAN COUPLE DAYS Marehan clashed with the Yusuf Administration and chased them out.

Marehan held the town until Al Shabaab's resurgence in 2008 which took over everything back at which point Cabdirisaaq left.

In 2015, Xassan-Rubeeti (Siad Barre's son) became very sick and told the Somali gov he could no longer continue as Ambassador to Oman.

Xassan was part of Siad Barre's family which bad been given asylum and treated very well by Sultan Qaboos since the 90's. He was basically Ambassador from Somalia for Life since he lived there

Long after Fahad fell out with Hassan Sh and Dam Jadeed and had no influence, Hassan Sh talked to Marehan and said who do you want to replace Xassan Rubeeti and they said Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano.

So Hassan Sheekh named Cabdirisaaq as Ambassador to Oman in 2015



FINALLY, Farmaajo's decision to change Cabdirisaaq from Oman to Qatar is something I know very well.

It all had to do with the decision not to cut ties with Qatar after Saudi/UAE try to force us.

Remember what I said;

1. Cabdirsaaq has Bachelor's from King Saud University (he did his masters in the Netherlands).
2. He is a fluent Arabic speaker whose knowledge of Arabs, their culture, and mindset is top notch.
3. He is a MASTER at requesting/soliciting/organizing aid.
4. He has a STRONG/TRUSTED reputation in Islamic humanitarian aid networks to Somalia.

Basically the more important our links with Qatar became and for Farmaajo personally, the more it became apparent to Farmaajo just who needed to fill that seat that he could trust will have his back 100% and could deliver with his knowledge and experience in accessing funds and aid from the country that had become our biggest source in the Middle East.

This wasn't just a "oooh who to name Ambassador to Zambia" to placate some koox/tribe kind of thing. This was one of the most delicate and personal decisions Farmaajo needed to make about our (and his own personal) links to a country that had become an existential lifeline for Somalia in recent times.

Farmaajo only told ONE person about this decision before he even offered it to Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano.

After he got the idea, Farmaajo spoke with his most closest advisor Col Abdi Osman-Nuur (officially his "military/security advisor") who is also reer Siyaad Diini like Cabdirisaaq Faarax Taano.

After that, Farmaajo called Taano up and told him to get on the next flight to and come to Villa Somalia.

Farmaajo offered the role to Taano with Cabdi Cusmaan between them and Taano accepted knowing how crucial his new post was going to be.

There's that.

Btw. She's not "just" Marehan/Cali Dheere. She's reer Yaroow which has huge implications for Mareexaanka Kismaayo.

Reer Yaroow are MAREEXAAN/CALI DHEERE. The Suldaan of Marehan in Jubooyinka is Mohamed Madoobe Yaroow, the first cousin of Kheyre's children's mom. The Suldaan gave the wilaayad of her to Kheyre

Ironically enough, she's now based in Nairobi having relocated from Norway after getting married to one of the richest Ogaadeen guys in Kenya.

Abdirahman lacks charisma. He needs a better strategy and should start by building his support base beyond Xamar. He needs to tour the HG hinterland and present an alternative agenda to Farmaajo. Right now his agenda is just being a critic but one with no agenda or coalition building.
