No wonder this district was the base of Marehan in the south at first. It looks like it was prime grazing land for the camels Marehan first brought with them when they came as100% nomadic pastoralists. Garbahaaray is also surrounded by mountains on three sides.

2. Dollow
This town has one of the most picturesque landscapes in Somalia and I think this recent pic shows that.
As most Marehan know, most Somalis don't even know that Somalia doesn't have just two rivers, it has 3! The river in this pic is the DAWA RIVER which separates Beled-Xaawo and Dollow districts from Ethiopia. The Dawa joins the GANANE to form the JUBBA at Dollow.
Also that town a little to the north on the other side of the Dawa River is DOLO ODO, the sister city to Dollow, Somalia.

3. Baardheere
Baardheere is cut in half by the Jubba River. What's there to say about the Baladul Amin that isn't known? The US Geologic Survey called it the single most promising agricultural location in all of Somalia. Baardheere is the home of the Marehan Ugaasship (tribal chieftain).

4. Luuq
Luuq is such an anomaly its shape seems other worldy. It's surrounded by the Jubba River jn a glass hour shape with just a 100 meters distance in the middle. The name of "Luuq" or cornor derives corner from its geography of being surrounded by the river.
