Both alshabaab and the republic of jubaland don't rely on charcoal trade. The sayid gets tax from the port. Once the cargo leaves the sheikhdom of kismayo alshabaab taxes the distribution to all nearby towns.

Thnaks for telling me sxb. As I know Shabaab is supported by Somaliland and funded by them. As Burco is the real capital of Al Shabaab in Somalia.

Bro this is a complicated issue that has a lot of nuance. The charcoal trade is decentralized at the ground level with reer baadiye producing the charcoal from their local areas. From there it is sold to local traders that transport it to the big cities, where it is bought by exporting firms that sell it to foreign markets. From my understanding, Alshabab taxed the transportation aspect of it. Madoobe taxed the shipping aspect of it. Alshabab and Madoobe still control the roads and port respectively. They will always be able to make money. The people that it hurts the greatest are the miskeen reer baadiye that really have limited paths to generate income.

It is terrible for the environment as it escalates desertification, and it was a revenue stream for Alshabab. But, poor people are suffering from this.

BTW, stop making this about Ahmed Madoobe only. He ain't going to starve from just this. And if he is starving, well that means he can't generate enough revenue from the port, which means that business is down in the region, which is bad news for the whole region. Kismaayo is the port of entry and exit for most of the goods in the south, all the way into Kenya.

Yes burco is the center of wahaabiya in the somali peninsula , and the birth place of daraawish , itaxaad, waxdad and many other religious rebels. But somaliland don't even have the resources to fund alshabaab. Our leadership are not that level headed, Except faysal Ali waraabe .

I know that. I see Ahmed Madobe as a existential threat to our interests. Moreso than anybody here. I detest and hate that man. He never apologized to what happened to our boys in Baardhere and the bridge. Never apologized for what happened to our boys in Bu'ale. I want his head on a platter. You and me will never see eye to eye on this.

The wahaabiya are rich every where . The only place they have less power is galmudug and western somali cities , like jigjiga, borama and djibouti. Even in hargeisa they have big stake at the decision making process. We can't even open our national theatre/Cinema because of them. They are so powerful that they even closed warancade's la cashee libaax yada music venue, the former minister of interior. he could not do any thing about them even though he is the advisor of the president.

not all galmudug are sufi, salebaan of cadaado are akwaan, sacad, dir, cayr and marexaan are diehard suufis, leelkese of galgaciyo are hardcore islamist now

somalis in nfd are akwaan, the good thing is raxanwayn is returning to ahlu sunnah, raxanwayn are the greatest islamic scholars of the somali race, they are all xafidul quraan

somalis in galbeed are rural people they are still connect to sufiyada lakin jigjiga is a hotbed for islamist who have friends in hargeisa.

sometimes i think farmaajo has symphty for akwaan i think he views sufis as backword
