1867 DAROD CONQUEST OF AFMADOW PAVING WAY FOR SUBSEQUENT DAROD MIGRATIONS

Post by Xaljecel »

The momentous year came in 1867 when the Darod clan defeated the Wardai Galla (Oromo) in Afmadow and drove them out of Jubaland to Kenya .

Within a few months, news of this defeat of the Wardai had reached northern Somalia and it encouraged further Darod migrations southwards. Groups of Marehan and Ogaden moved towards the Juba from central Somalia, while large numbers of Harti (Majerteen) sailed to Kismayo from Berbera to settle in the lush lands of Jubbaland.

did you not just post another thread which said that siyad barre created gedo to displace rahanweyn? now you are saying marehan where in gedo and took it from galla?

when people make shit up it is hard for them to keep track of all the lies, so they are bound to slip up.

word of advice, every singe somali knows whose whose in each degaan, spreading fake news in somalinet is not going to cause marehan from losings its degaan.

forget about loosing degaan, marehan in jubbaland is spreading as we speak.
