Wallahi billahi it is true what they said
SI XUN WAX U SHEEG SIXIR KA DARAN (TWISTING THE TRUTH IS WORSE THAN SORCERY)
1. So Bosaaso and Garowe Airport were the most recent big airports in the country
2. Each ONE of them went through THREE remodels already
3. Garowe AFTER it was built with Kuwaiti money was fixed TWO MAJOR times since, one by the UN and IOM and another with the Stability Fund
4. Both airports FACE STEEP DECLINE
5. UP KEEP VS MONEY VS TECH KNOW HOW/REPAIR
6. Learning from those examples, Barawe received GEOSYNTHETIC MATERIAL
7. They can color it to its surroundings so it can blend with its
environment
8. It is durable, resistant to weather, and more stable for shifting land
The original research is even online

I don't care how the building looks...that ugly architecture is a somali wide problem
I am talking about the actual runway...it's not only legit but it's a much better investment than anything else recently built

I don't get why they didn't include a paved runway

Embarrassing.

The airport was built in the middle of Shabaabland, with fewer guards & great uncertainty. Shabaab could easily destroy any part of it, anytime. It wouldn't make sense to spend a lot of resources. It also isn't commercially viable.

Facts don’t matter for some. Rather than admit failure and move on, N&N supporters want to polish a turd and convince us it is not a turd.
Kheyre should have resisted the opportunity for a photo in this case but social media and the igu sawiir got the best of him

Regardless of what it cost Ii is a good investment for the region. Reer Baraawe, abroad and in other parts of the country, who were unable to visit their relatives in the city are now able to do so. Southwest State can now also begin to relocate to the city and build on what is already there.

Some N&N supporters are paid agents and/or shareholders, so one shouldn't be surprised.

I just think this issue points to a
profound character deficiency as one of our least admirable qualities.
Some people literally took a positive development for a marginalized Somali community, who bore the brunt of clan warlordism---- the FIRST development of its kind for that community from the foreign aid gotten in their name, and misinformed, mischaracterized, and wilfully victimized them again for superficial political reasons.
And yet, AW shamelessly plays the character deficiency game. Peperino I don't know what your motivation is, so I won't comment. I will say though that I have noticed a recent pattern of aggressive hostility towards me.
In any case here are some materials from the engineers. Reinforced geosynthetic materials over asphalt for slowler depreciation Load Impact vs Time and longer life span vs. Unreinforced

It is paved. Unless it is gravel, they are all paved.
Gravel = Chipped/crushed rocks
Pavement = Gravel processed with sand
1.Tarmac = Pavement binded together with coal tar.....no one does tarmac anymore
2. Asphalt = Pavement binded by semi-solid petroleum...replaced tarmac really, most airports are asphalt
3. Concrete = Asphalt topped with layer of cement.....only runways for the biggest planes
4. Geosynthetic Barawe Airport = Pavement with thinner layer of asphalt and thicker layer of geosynthetic material.....used to reinforce in unstable land, keeps material compact
As far back as Siad days, weren't they doing things like BACAAD CELINTA...planting trees to stop soil erosion there?
There is something there with very vulnerable soil environmemt
