Lool it’s for the greater good these Somalis are too stubborn though. I don’t understand how somalia can go into lockdown. In the west, the government is paying people their salaries, 80% here in the UK. How does somalia expect people who struggling to get by to lock themselves with nothing to eat?

Even if you don’t want to be Locked down, observe the social distancing, etc, put Alaah Akbar let 1000’s back in to mosques (when the largest mosques in Mecca & Medina & the rest of the world is locked down) & shops, restaurants & Madarasas & Dugsi etc, when you have people dying of the coronavirus in Muqdisho, what will these people do when 1000s start dying? Good question. Murax is an elitist who grew up in the comfort of the West, having never worried about his next meal or where to sleep, terribly out of touch with the average Somali & the harsh realities on the ground--yet has the audacity to label these poor people 'Braindead.'

Many of those remittances are sent home by people who work in service jobs or occupations, like day labor, that have no monthly paycheck and are worst affected by the global downtown. Some also comes from migrants who have entered countries without legal status and are ineligible for part of the aid packages uncorked by advanced economies.

With coronavirus shutting down industries, many earners in Miami, Las Vegas, London and other economic centers can no longer afford to send their monthly $50, $100 or $200 to Honduras, Somalia or India. The shock waves are pushing their relatives to desperation.

In Somalia, Abdalla Sabdow, a former security guard and a father of six, made his way through Mogadishu last week to check on the $200 he receives monthly from his cousin, Yusuf Ahmed, a taxi driver in the U.S. But the money was late. His cousin, like many in the U.S., had been confined to his home for almost three weeks, unable to work.

"I came back empty-handed," an anxious-looking Sabdow said. "Time is running out ... It is very distressing."

With three of his small children piled onto his lap at home, he worried about falling behind in rent, no small thing in a city where camps of hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people are a constant reminder of the fragility of circumstances.

You just don’t go into a mosque on Friday prayers full of ppl and try to disperse them with sticks. That is the Indian and Kenya way, it’s chaos it’s unorganized and uncivil.
They should met and talk to all local imams and sheikhs 3 days ago and informed them the seriousness of the issue and ask for their cooperation. Same with business owners. Then go on TV and radio and educate ppl about it, then deploy the military and police as a last resort to close the streets and public areas
