It’s really bad out there. In NJ, where madow are 15% of the population they make up 50% of the deaths. My brother tells me that they have started making guidance on who gets treatment using the ventilator machines and who doesn’t. The guidelines prioritize those who have few health issues over those who do. Since madow tend to be less healthier due to lack of health insurance, poverty and historic injustices, they will be less prioritized

yeah they r blaming the victims on racism but i see in my area alot of madows not following the social distance guidelines and doing secondhand smoke or assembling outside the shop.

Sahal put your bias aside fact is the reason why madows are hit the hardest in America is due to socioeconomic factors. Alot of black americans don't have health insurance etc.
Here in Sweden alot of Somalis died especially in my city Stockholm. Many racists tried to blame it on Somalis not following social distance guidelines. But that was complete bullshit. Most somalis in my city are busdrivers, taxi drivers and the women mostly work in retirements home. Basically jobsectors that involve being contact with many people every day. Secondly Somalis are family oriented. Elders live with their children compared to cadaan who put their elder folks in retirement homes.
Now Christian Assyrians are in the top of the list when it comes to death of covid19. And like Somalis they are family oriented and they are dominating
the restaurant business.

I live in a majority Kamasale Hawiye area. I made my money in the area and have many of them who are friends. It seems like every other day I am told of another person who passed away.

Sweden pointing a finger at very small insignificant segment of the populations for their own Covid 19 mortality is stupid, hypocritical and pot calling kettle black. For crying out loud it's business as usual in Sweden. I saw the other day dj subeer in gothenburg having a middleeastern lunch out with 5 other Somalis, all sitting next to each other. No social distancing xitaa.
I don't get the whole "herd immunity" Sweden is suggesting will work for them. They are essentially using the public as experimental subjects.

Unfortunately ilma adeeradaan beesha Madoow are disproportionately impacted by Diabetes (Sonkorow) and people with Diabetes have been disproportionately affected as causalities of Corona.
That's my simplistic read on the situation.
I must say I am pleasantly surprised by Abkoow's well informed post.

at pleasantly surprised by abkows well informed post. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why this group is suffering at alarming rate. Its a whole raft of things that were the catalysts to the grim reality they face. I also suspect majority of them are not getting the care they need and deserve once hospitalised due to long standing discrimination embeded in the fabric of America. The lives of AA are despensable.

Some them have Sickle cell disease. Which on its own is a major illness to manage, a simple infection can be life threatening much less this virus.
