Are Isaaq really Arab?
My grandma is Isse Musa so I have a right to speak on this. Lol.
Isaaq Myth:
Somali tradition, the Isaaq clan was founded in the 13th or 14th century with the arrival of Sheikh Ishaaq Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Hashimi (Sheikh Ishaaq) from Arabia, a descendant of Ali ibn Abi Talib in Maydh.[6][7] He settled in the coastal town of Maydh in modern-day northwestern Somaliland, where he married into the local Magaadle clan.
Actual Facts:
Some anthropologists specialized in Somali studies dispute this genealogy and place the Isaaq within an indigenous Somali clan framework belonging to either the Dir or Irrir sub-grouping of the Somali clan family.
Forensic genetic testing of Isaaq clan members inhabiting Djibouti found that all of the individuals belonged to the E-V32 subclade of the paternal haplogroup E1b1b1.[18] Most Ishaaq in Djibouti belong to the Habr Awal subclan.
I believe Somalis are gonna have to be content in being indigenous. Reason why I have to post these facts is a lot of Somalis these days believe in these myths and lies and never did their own research.
May Allah forgive our ancestors for lying about our genealogy but we gotta stop the ignorance. Lies like this is why we Somalis can’t get along.

Re: Are Isaaq really Arab?
Btw, according to FACTs. Isaaq and Hawiye and RaxanWeyn are brothers belonging to Dir. Darod are Jeberti which with further research was a made up community of Tigre people who converted to Islam and defected from the Christian Ethiopian Kingdom. These are facts. And I’m Darod saying this so don’t get mad at me. I know some Darod gonna get angry

Am sensing op is a kid in early twenties. This was being debated when I first joined here which seems like a decade. Topic is boring.
Re: Are Isaaq really Arab?
Hahahaha. Actually when you say negroid that’s not a negroid as in Bantu. His Haplogroup originated in Horn Africa so he’s a Native. If you wanna consider Somalis negroid or Caucasoid that’s up to you. I’m just here to present the facts.barbarossa wrote: Sun May 24, 2020 6:48 am Did the fellow commit suicide upon learning about his Negroid lineage?
Re: Are Isaaq really Arab?
A decade ago there were no factual evidences to prove that Somalis are Natives to the land. Now there is factual evidence. I just wanted to give a final blow to the myth that Somalis are mixed with Arab.FarhanYare wrote: Sun May 24, 2020 5:32 pm Am sensing op is a kid in early twenties. In Somaliland all you have to do to be considered religious is wear an Arabic costume and say you’re Arab.
