I’ve always defended, and still do to an extent how America is a land of opportunity. Not too many scenarios in the world where you have a former Dadaab refugee dweller lady, be a congresswoman cussing out a cadaan President.

No it isn’t. I am suspicious of being one of the sole black folk in certain areas. You will always viewed with suspicion and harassed. If it wasn’t for that sweet scholarship I wouldnt have gone to the 98% white school. I lucked out cause I had an accent and wasn’t threatening once they recognized I was a foreign student
