Last I checked, all districts in Gedo where Al shabaab free and had good security before haramacad deployment to the border towns of Dolow, Luuq and Beledxaawo. Gedo has been the only region that pacified Al shabaab in South/Central Somalia.

Also Somali gov has every right to send any troops to any parts of the country, especially when there are militias trying to take over.

Care to elaborate the reason? There are two theories circulating and don't know which one is true, or whether they're both fake.
first, Al-shabab in the area were mostly MXs and had had ties with Zakaria (Farmaajo's aide)
Second, they have assimilated with the army.
