A Damning Report

Post by paperino »

In clear violation of the founding principles, the thinking and actions of the government of Somaliland are grounded on clannish, favoritism, and nepotism. Employment and other opportunities are tinted by the spoils system. Similar to pre-1991 Somalia, the government is concentrated in a single region, Hargeisa. Except the tax authorities and the security forces, decentralization of administration does not exist in regions, and services are remote from the people.
All citizens who were born in 1991 and after have never voted for members of the Parliament that are supposed to represent them. Unemployment is soaring, inequality and injustice deepened and democracy and respect of freedoms and human rights are in decline.
Of import to the head of state was the never ending condemnation of various administrations current and past as to what strides the country has taken owing to myriads of difficulties like youth unemployment, poverty, clannish, nepotism etc.
The People' s declaration released by a number of our youthful intellectuals stated that nothing tangible has been achieved in Somaliland during its three decades of self-rule

Of course we can and should do better regardless of whether we are recognised by the world as an independent state but we have nevertheless made great achievements over the last 29 years. We are positively the contrast to "countries" like Somalia that have diplomatic recognition

You're wrong; your enemy is the truth and those telling it. Another truth you aren't gonna like:
Similar to pre-1991 Somalia, the government is concentrated in a single region, Hargeisa. Except the tax authorities and the security forces, decentralization of administration does not exist in regions, and services are remote from the people
Not that different from Mogadishu, but SL had 30 years to improve but failed.
All citizens who were born in 1991 and after have never voted for members of the Parliament that are supposed to represent them.
Of course, no democracy.

The audacity this paperino has and the obsession tells you something.

He really is fearful of Somaliland progression.

I live in sanaag and the goverment has the full support of the people of sanaag and sool.

In somaliland we respect the rule of law and you won't see anyone running with weapons and protesting.

Somaliland has created more jobs and the shaqo qaran graduate are testimony to this success

You're just one individual who supports maamulka magaalada Hargeysa. Meanwhile, shacabka support:

Notice the banaanbax was held very recently. No banaanbax for maamulka magaalada Hargeysa.

That's hadaftimo and warsengeli degaan. Still somaliland controls 96% of it's territory unlike somalia which doesn't even control muqdisho. You can't compare the two. Somaliland is peaceful and has the support of its people :sland: :sland: :sland:

According to the link, SL gov controls only Hargeisa and surrounding. Decentralization doesn't exist outside the city. Since the link (menafn) is pro-SL, it's telling the truth.

I was expecting some international report, but then I forget Somaliland lobby groups don't allow this kind of nonsense. This is just and opinion posted in a public forum by some angry Zoomalian . Somaliland acheived a lot with minimum support , we need billions of loan to make further progress.

Actually, the site menafn.com is frequently employed by Somaliland lobby groups. It's a very pro-SL site. I would suggest you search few to several articles and check the content. Part of the damning report even praises maamule Biixi:
Having reclaimed its sovereignty three decades from the now defunct Republic of Somalia and withstanding its non-international recognition the republic of Somaliland has turned into a world reckoned nation on how to do it alone.

This was stated by president Muse Bihi Abdi during graduation and passing out parade of the second Somaliland youth service graduation ceremony at the Dararweine forces academy of which he was chief guest.
The damning part of the report is by young Somalilanders (a group of youthful intellectuals). So, don't dismiss it as the rant of 'some angry Zoomalian.'
