FAH this might be the biggest story of the week
Trump's Attorney General tried to fire the top prosecutor in the offoce that went after many of Trump's allies. The prosecutor refused to be fired .

The "fired" prosecutor says the Attorney General can't fire him because the job is guaranteed by the court order that appointed him to the job until the Senate confirms a replacement. It all comes down to how the courts interpret 28 U.S.C. § 546.
The other thing to watch is what is what happens in a closely divided Senate as the election approaches. Trump was probably better off nominating a replacement and letting McConnell get the nominee confirmed.
