Disagree. Kheyre has more chance than Farmaajo as hawiye candidate. Somalis have a boredom disorder they never elect Daarood twice only Abgaal were different as a subclan due to having the capital. hawiye warlords hated abdiqasim so they voted for abdullahi yousuf the same way daarood PL and JL admins are now after hawiye president this is why Kheyre thinks he has chance here also what happens now shows he enjoys more backing than him when it comes to all FMS even lafta green left Farmaajo cause of his rapprochement with Mursal who is in cahoots with sharif Sakiin. lafta gareen knows Farmaajo is going so he starting swimming with the current. Let’s agree to disagree. Yes Somalia has never elected the same President twice but one mistake you are making is assuming things have not changed from the era of 90s. The notion that Darood or Hawiye will vote as a collective is not correct. If a vote was held today I can guarantee you that Kheyre has more Darood vote than Farmaajo.

In the end their biggest threat is Abgaal and both are trying their best to make sure that an Abgaal man does not reach that final round. Tell me who are the numbers Kheyre has in the first round. Each Darood and Hawiye sub-clan will vote for their own. Let’s assume the Qaldaans throw their vote to Kheyre but I don’t see any reason to believe the other Small clans will vote for him. Reer Xamar and most 0.5 will always throw their vote to who ever the Abgaal candidate is as it has always been. Digit generally also votes for the Abgaal candidate so please enlighten me who are their so called votes you believe Kheyre gets. Maybe Xawadle has thrown their weight behind him

Again just take a look at the prior presidential votes along the clan lines. First time I heard of Kab iyo lax to be honest was on this board. Again HG never vote as a collective which is the reality. Sacad will always vote Hawiye. Ceyr will vote Hawiye unless it Marehan which means they can be convinced otherwise. Salebaan will vote where the money leads them to while sarur are irrelevant. The last one is Duduble and though technically not HG will vote along with them and their vote is usually aligned with Ceyr or Salebaan.

The shocking part from what I have learned in Somali politics is the Vote of the Qaldaans. For people who 24/7 preach about Darood is their enemy, collectively they have every single time cast their vote for the Darood candidate. Maybe it’s because the Hawiye candidate is Abgaal so things might change if Kheyre who is their Son in law is the candidate.
