A Presentation re:Election:; Somalia's greatest impediment is information gap/ignorance

Post by Voltage »

So we now have the blueprint agreed to by the FMS and Farmaajo.

Some people on this forum are celebrating. I don't know why and I suspect they don't understand that the joke is on them.

BEFORE I EXPLAIN HOW THE JOKE IS ON THEM AS VICTIMS OF INFORMATION GAP/IGNORANCE-----

I made a quick little doodle about someone's predictions----oddly the Election blueprint seems to be EXACTLY what he predicted.

I talked to this person ;) And no, he is not a genius. At all. He just says, intellectual curiosity leading to basic research. After 10 minutes, he says even a 6th grade student will understand the process.

How is it that 10 minutes of research yields this predictability a year in advance, but rational, adult human beings exist who think the process was not only "unpredictable" but a loss for the Presidency?

Furthermore, why are they even looking at this from THE FEDERAL STATE'S LEADERS PERSPECTIVES WHO ARE THE "BAD GUYS", i e. the ones who are slowing down the process for universal suffrage.

The FMS = Those limiting the vote
.
JUST THINK ABOUT THIS.

In the meantime, it is obvious The Somali Government has a serious problem with COMMUNICATION if the very people who personally stand to gain from advancement of the Vote Franchise seem to be suffering an Information Gap at shocking levels.

Is the Somali government THAT bereft of talent/capacity that they can't put out a very simple INFORMATION CAMPAIGN making some difference?

Using my own posts to make a point to both groups, THE INFORMATION GAP NEEDS TO END.

1. Farmaajo "lost" because he didn't get 1M/1V addressed by Voltage almost a YEAR ago in November.

Image

2. Farmaajo "lost" because he didn't get 100 different voting places or something addressed before Mogadishu Summitt.

Image

I mean you literally cannot make up the shocking extent to which some are under misinformation/INFORMATIOM GAP.

And I haven't even yet addressed WHY they think Farmaajo "lost."

He lost nothing. History will say HE DOUBLED voting accessibility.

We the PEOPLE are the ones who lost if anything. The Vote is for SINGLE, INDIVIDUAL, PERSONS.

Neither for your own parents or even tribe to control----let ALONE any other government agency ("FMS.").

FMS =Fighting to LIMIT and CONTROL YOUR VOTE DUMBO!

Interesting analysis. Universal suffrage was always a pipe dream as long as :som: remained a fragmented failed state whose central government exercises little to no control outside Banadir (and even in Banadir AMISOM is the difference)

I can see that if Somalia wins her war against terrorism then the only way she can become a single, viable state is by becoming a loose federation/ de facto confederation along UAE lines

I take the complete opposite view.

Confederation like UAE or Swiss Cantons are for disparate groups who have nothing to do with each other.

For example Ethiopia is a prime candidate and is most likely headed there.

Not only are Somalis a single nation in every sense, but we are intimately involved regionally.

Puntland is always going to be intimately connected to Jubbaland because of Darod and even.direct Harti links.

But Jubbaland is also going to be intimately tied to Galmudug issues because Marehan lives in both.

Yet still Galmudug is always.going to be very intimately connected to Hirshabelle because it is neighoring Hawiye but also because Hiiraab live in both (Cayr in Matabaam and Wacaysle in Ceeldheer).

Yet Southwest State is also intimately connected to both Jubbaland and Hirshabelle because everything between the two rivers is ARLAADI and heavily influenced by the Maay Culture

A very weak, devolved government literally reflects very weak and devolved relationship between units who are pulling away from each other.

Even thr US obsession with Federalism reflects the ORIGINAL TENSION between English stock Northern anti-slavery and the Scots-Irish, slave South with each violently opposed to being ruled by the Other.

Said another way, if Somalia's clans were like Iraq's Sunni, Shia, Kurds who literally live in self-contained autonomous zones, I could understand.

The more heavily involved the people àre, the more complex the contract ("government") will naturally have to be.

This is why grazing areas that bring together bigger diversity of Somali clans have more "complex Xeer."

For example the features of Xeerarka Mudug and Hawd are more complex, universal, and widely known is because of this reason.

This might be a shocking revelation but I agree with Voltage on this “ Confederation like UAE or Swiss Cantons are for disparate groups who have nothing to do with each other“ but than his view of saying Puntland will be connected to Jubaland always because it’s a supposed Darood cancels all agreements that we might have because I will never accept a complete Darood hegemony over Jubaland even if that means picking up the Gun to fight for it.

So I took examples from 3 different angles specifically(I should have added above)

1. Geographical Distance.. Ras Casyr, Puntland to Ras Kamboni, Jubbaland are the farthest distince North-South yet it makes no difference in.intimate Somali links

2. Cultural Diversity: Maay and Maxaa are the two big different dialects but they are at each other's bossom across multiple states.....not alienated from.each other behind autonomous zones

3. Clan/Social Fissures...Clans are our biggest difference but we aren't even segregated to have "Bantustans". Hiraab and Marehan are cut between different states and care equally for their deegaan equally. There is no way in hell Caabudwaaq is autonomous to Garbahaaray or Ceeldheer to Warsheilkh.

Eebow am basing my ideogical view based on the fact that you stated in the first statements you made. One can change and evolve their political views as time passes on. Still one think I have learned and I would say almost everyone who comes from a traditionally Southern Clan after the civil war is those from Mugdi Mudug and further north are just people who are cut from a different cloth and Yes that includes my own blood the Waceylse.

I know you will say Marehan a part of them are a southern clan etc etc but in my opinion the definition of a Southern clan by your definition is different as to we those from the actual south identify people. Mudulood/Digil/Mirifle/Bimaal etc etc actually don’t really use the word Reer konfuur but the word Reer Dhoobaye when creating a distinction between the cursed mugdi mudug and upwards north and those who are are not. The only clan that I can say is 50/50 Reer Dhoobaye and Reer Koraad is Xawadle and all the Darood in Juba etc etc are still Mugdi Mudug folks LOL

Voltage,

What you rightfully consider people’s ill informed pretenses I acknowledge as therapeutic self care. You have to constantly convince yourself that you’re ‘winning’ by 24/7 pushing a narrative. What you’re missing though is its severe mental anguish caused by deep insecurities that are always at the root. The ones more secure in their positions, or the ones who like their cards, position have no need to foam 24/7.

For that Inadeer I think you are off in your characterization of ‘ignorance’ when really its more bruised feelings, ego. One can argue such emotional investment in individuals dwindling prospects, lack of political viability is ignorance in and of itself.

Adaptability is the single greatest organizational strength.

It seems Villa Somalia is already applying lessons learned.

A new Communications Director is named for State House!

This is Farmaajo's government fault, they don't speak on anything to the public so what do you expect?

He needs to leave in February so someone with balls comes next, like a Madoobe or Sanbalooleshe type who can speak his mind candidly at anytime.

He had good ideas but dude fumbled by sidelining his SSC allies n letting their Budhcadland frenemies appoint seats for a constituency that's not even under Budhcadland control. Basicaly started negotiations by giving about 10 seats to the opposition

And No.

Both of these opinions are misinformed.

I would encourage the new COMMUNICATIONS team to take into consideration how both of these misinformed perceptions are the norm, NOT AN EXCEPTION, in Somali oral narrating.

As such I would advise the following 3-tier strategy.

1. Educating
2. Fact-checking
3. Informing

It is not as simple as just putting something out and bam you are done.

There is widespread illiteracy and lack of education, there is an active vicious opposition unrooted to any ideology or strategy, and wide dissemination of alternative feed of information all entirely unregulated.

All 3 basis should be covered
