I have been in Mogadishu for 2 days now. Enjoying my stay. The town is so different from everything anyone mentions on here like Sahal and Abkoow.

No ONE cares or ever thinks about qabiil here. Wallahi the one time it was even relevant for me to mention my tribe the folks around treated me like a rock star or something in their desire to make you as comfortable as possible.

So much more to say but in a hurry.

I will be here in town for a while, then flying off to Caabudwaaq and Balanbale, I am trying to produce a 4th book on the young Ali Xaabuun Ugaas and also going deep into Wardheer to visit my reer abti.

After a month or two in Caabudwaaq, I fly to Garbahaareey!!! Gedo will be another month or two where I hope to crisscross the region by car inshallah!!

What brought about this trip is my 3 book series where I realized I needed true immersion.

P. S. Can you believe it is my first time in Somalia sincé my birth? It hit me like a ton of bricks as I landed in Addan Cadde

Inshallah kheyre masuul, I hope to take a trip following a similar sequence in the next year or so. Last time I went my trip was from Xamar to Caabudwaaq to kismayo. The country was a lot safer than the media reports would have you believe, but being your first time there take it all in, looking forward to the updates.

Nah I aint going to Cabudwaaq as long as its under GM I boycotted it. I miss the 2016 days when tribal rule was the order. I dont wanna fight Voltage I think we would make great friendship, I just wanna discuss politics over tea in a civilizes fashion.

Guys , so far there isn't a part of Mog I haven't seen. I love this town wallahi and people. I think the single greatest thing to happen to this town is Hormuud and the bajaaj (tuktuk in Mombasa) job creation initiative.

There are a million bajaajyo on the streets and every kid to grandpa is driving one helped to buy one by Hormuud. You can crisscross town for 2-3 dollars on a bajaaj driven by a 16 year old.

Daljirka, all the usuals, the old Ceelgaab market, Hamarweyne, the new Mogadishu Mall (the doesn't even have open bathrooms for customers wat the hell), madaxtooyada, bakaaraha, etc I already seen.

I saw an old Marehan warlord from the 90's at the cafe shop on the ground floor side section of Mogadishu Mall.
