The situation of the Harti in Somaliland is the same as the one of the Serbs in Bosnia in 1992
The Serbs makes up 30 % of the population of Bosnia, when Bosnia tried to leave the Yugoslav federation in march 1992 the Serbs boycotted the independence referendum because they want to stay as a part of Yugoslavia where they thanks to Serbia made up the majority and feel very uncomfortable as a minority in a Muslim dominated independent Bosnia , the Serbs made a proposal they and the Muslims could divide the land 50 % and 50 % to both groups, the Muslims rejected the deal and said the territorial integrity of Bosnia can not be debated. The Muslims arrogance was big, the Bosnian Serbs got all the heavy weapons from the Yugoslav federal army and when Bosnia was declared independence, the Bosnian Serbs left for the hills above Sarajevo with their wife's and children and began the serge of the city and bombement, while removing the Muslim population from the countryside. Will the Harti and Somaliland case end the same horrific way ?

These are not comparable situations, we are both muslims and we intermarriage, and if it was gonna go that route the harti don't have the manpower to do it.
Now most of the harti in the homeland is pro Somaliland, so when Somaliland gets de jure recognition nothing is gonna happen, people will continue with their life.

Darod is a tiny minority in Somaliland and only makes up 4/5% of the population. The Somaliland army has taken steps to ensure we don’t see an influx of darod migrants from Ethiopia and Somalia trying to settle in Somaliland and changing demographics.
The populations of hj, hy and fiqishni today outnumber the darod massively in sool in which darod now makes up only 20%. Sanaag is now fully hy followed by hj, darod make up only 7% of the population there.
We are not saying to harm the darod minority but we are saying “minority rights, majority rules”.
