New era in Israeli-Palestinian conflict: Naftali Bennet replaces Bibi Netanyahu

Post by TarTar »

This is the beginning of a new era

Bennet is from a new generation of Israeli leadership. Believes a Palestinian state cannot be viable. Bennet gonna accelerate annexation of the West Bank. Annexing all or large part of the West Bank can lead to killing the Palestinian Authority. The end of the PA could force Israel to reestablish Israeli military administration over current PA areas of the West Bank.

The two-state solution could end up referring to Israel (including the West Bank) and Gaza. Would that be worse or better than the status quo of endless talks about future talks between Israelis and Palestinians and intermittent wars

The Palestinians got the Hitler (pardom the unfortunate pun) to their story.

Can they effectively finally change the narrative?

I would avoid comparing modern leaders to guys like Stalin n Hitler Mao

as for changing da narrative, 2 state fantasy ends once Area C is annexed. What ever remains of PA collapses. Israel reestablishes the military governorate. only outstanding matter becomes how quickly Israel formally annexes the rest of West Bank and Gaza's relationship with Israel or Egypt. Area B and C comparisons to South African bantustans will be a big part of anti Israeli narrative if only partial annexation happens

Assuming Israel completely annexes West Bank, they will see West Bank as an internal matter independent of Gaza. The final solution is either

1 state excluding Gaza (formally reoccupied by Egypt or given genuine independence). Israel with an even larger Palestinian citizen minority

1 state including Gaza. Binational state called Israel or Palestine depending on who gets majority vote '

the nightmare scenario is an ambiguous stats with even more communal violence in a West Bank full of 2 tribes that hate each other yet can't separate

Bennet inaugural speech

Bennet is somehow more nationalist than Bibi but his coalition includes a Palestinian-Israeli party
