Since there's a female presidential candidate, Somalia is more democratic than SL.

Since there's a female presidential candidate, Somalia is more democratic than SL.

SL is not only more democratic than Mogadishu but the wider region saxib, but Somalia is more female friendly in terms of parliament and meeting gender quotas.

Lets hope, she does not (upon losing her bid for Villa Somalia) renounce her Wanlaweyn citizenship and all of a sudden turn into an ardent secessionist.

I seriously doubt that. Fawzia herself as a female politician who held powerful positions (deputy prime minister, foreign minister, etc), female mayors (like Beledweyne's), a female among the top police officers, many female xildhibaanos, etc are a testament to Somalia's mature democracy.

That brings to memory temperamental professor Samatar, the former presidential candidate from Waqooyi Galbeed who went on to join Kulmiye party, but I think Fawzia is reer magaal who won't do such a thing.

Democracy means electing your leaders, doesn’t matter if a man or a woman is selected by few tribal leaders, it doesn’t make it democratic

Somalia under EU pressure has to give 30% of Parliament to women otherwise EU stops aid and money to Somalia.

When Somaliland was asked to have a quota for women, they said the US and EU nations should first adopt quotas for women and minorities

Fowziya is habar yonis in name only, her children are hawiye, her mother was hawiye so she is hawiye more than habar yonis.

If that’s the case why did you invite Ethiopia to kill and rape your somali brothers in Mogadishu?

Fawzia unfortunately hails from a small clan in the north Somalia who under our political system only have 30 seats. She also isn’t allowed to be president as only landheere darood or hawiye can run for that seat in Somalia.

I think she has better chance running for deputy PM against Mahad Gulleed which is the seat reserved for their constituency
