“The question of Somaliland’s sovereignty being recognized internationally is obviously a top priority for Somaliland officials and has been for 30 years. My view, which I have shared with senior Somaliland officials, is that the best way to pursue their goal is through a negotiated agreement with the Somalia government. All new states that have attained a seat in the United Nations – the ultimate determination of international recognition – have obtained their sovereignty with the consent of the former state to which it belonged. Some recent examples are Ethiopia consented to Eritrea’s independence, Sudan consented to South Sudan’s independence, Indonesia consented to Timor Leste’s independence, and Serbia consented to Montenegro’s independence. By contrast, Serbia has not consented to Kosovo’s declaration of independence and despite being recognized by about 100 countries, Kosovo is not seated in the United Nations and struggles to achieve full independence. Whether negotiations with authorities in Mogadishu leads to independence or some form of association is entirely up to the negotiators. What should not occur is that Mogadishu prolong a resolution of Somaliland’s status by refusing to enter undertake serious negotiations.”
dat right. A negotiated agreement with the Somalia government.
problem is the Somalia federal government is weak. Somali federal republic got 5 governorates. Sometimes, 1 of those governors might flout federal Authority. Do something like block a federal minister from flying out of Garowe. Somaliland wants a strong federal government to reign in those 5 governorates to negotiate final status recognition
The Somalia federal government need to crush stealth secessionism so they can't block Somaliland recognition negotiations

Keyword. However, Somalia won't consent, therefore, WG would never attain independence.TarTar wrote: Thu Sep 23, 2021 6:37 pm American ambassador

in that case we would be at an impasse. The Somali Republic consisted of 2 founders. 1 founder is Somaliland. He say he left. The other founder is Somalia. She blocks the divorce from Somaliland. No matter what though, know this: there is no Somali Republic without both founders.paperino wrote: Thu Sep 23, 2021 7:06 pmKeyword. dats y Somaliland will have to become actively engaged and interfere in the affairs of the ex italian colony to help Somaliland allies.
No body wants an italian colony claiming territories it doesn't control, or a de facto Somaliland country that is unrecognized. We shall see wut happens.
1st let's get ur dysfunctional Amisom trusteeship to function. And reign those 5 governorates, including the stealth secessionists occupying Somaliland territory
Re: Somaliland path to de jure recognition of it's de facto sovereignty
You must be brain damaged by now as you have been banging your head against a wall for 30 years and so
Carry on your fantasy fantasy land by advocating the return of European colonial created fake boarder

⌃ naw fam
I tell it like it is. ur a stealth secessionis,t whereas, in 1991, Somaliland publicly annulled the 1960 marriage to somalia. da realist dat i am, I acknowledge that international recognition would be much easier if tha ex italian colony acknowledges that she was divorced in 1991.
now go tell ur governorate to be honest with the public. either publicly declare ur now stealth secessionism or rejoin the country that the italians put under.
don't say u reject colonial borders as long as kenya, ethiopia, n djibouti troops protect ur federal government. claim ethiopia controlled somaliland or kenyan controlled somaliland n c wut happens

You are in Europe, right what passports you and your family use when you fakely claimed refugee status and what did you say to the Home Office that you Somali and when people enquire your nationality what do you say Somali , right
If where you claiming better than Somali why the young are on trail of Tahriib, and why the passports you and your officials carry is the true blue Somali passports
You need to stop this Jaat abuse created hallucinations and accept people who accupy Somalia are Somali and you as similar are Somali, anything else is a fantasy haha that you would grow out of it over time

Re: Somaliland path to de jure recognition of it's de facto sovereignty
ain't dat wut I said about Puntland? they're part of the ex italian colony. yet they act like an independent country
here r ur youth raised on hatred of other tribes from the ex Italian colony. a foreigner asked him where u from?
nigga said "no disrespect to other somalis but i ain't from somalia. I'm from f-king Puntland"
those tahribians r usually the wealthiest. the more tahribers u got the higher ur population of wealthy emigres
now as for Somaliland independence. since the marriage known as Somali Republic consisted of 2 founders, that marriage doesn't exist if 1 tha partners divorces the other. The FGS is not equivalent to the Somali Republic. not because of Puntland's stealth secession. Rather because Somalia got divorced by Somaliland. In fact if anyone is the successor to the Somali Republic then that's Somaliland
1. the oldest among the 2 founders of tha republic
2. a functioning and sovereign state
3. they hold real elections
4. Kenya n Ethiopia troops don't protect the government from rebels
Now stop hating Ogaden, Hawiya, n Marehan. Npetition governor Deni to reunite with the rest of the ex italian colony
