Re: Why do all majeerteen have a
Most of the mj's that moved abroad are refugees from the south. Mj's heavily populated the south (mainly xamar and also baydhabo, beledweyne) during the colonial and civilian gov era.

1st of all Magerten is part of the south politics n cultureTurbulence wrote: Sun Oct 03, 2021 1:50 pmI figured that is what he meant. Puntland, judging by their actions in the last 20 years, will never allow themselves to be directly ruled from Mogadishu. It is not Marehan, Rahanweyn, or Ogaden they fear but Hawiye. Particularly Hiiraab. They just don't trust them regardless of what they say on the outside.TarTar wrote: Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:43 pmi mamul goboleed with power mean transfer national sovereignty to tha 5 memer states of tha ex italian colony. that would replace roble n farmajo wit da 5 governors. i'm not from tha ex italian colony but i think that's wat gobdoon meant by replace farmajo n robleTurbulence wrote: Wed Sep 29, 2021 6:33 pm
Get rid off them waa la fahmay laakin who do you want to replace them?
sum of 'em have a fear of marehan n hawiya. that paranoia might be pushing them 2 b stealth secessionists. but they still look up to Hamar culturally. n they want to control Hamar while Puntland is independent of Hamar. n dats y they don't declare their secession

That makes no sense their marexan cousins dont have a heavy walanweyn accent and they are deep in the south. Marexaan actually have a very standard Somali accent somethings between a somali galbeed woqoyi and a mudug accent.

Re: Why do all majeerteen have a
The Majeteein have lived in Mogadishu for centuries before the Italian colonists arrived, those are the ones who were expelled to the Diaspora in 1991. The Marehan did not arrive in Xamar before the 60s. The MJ in Beenadir also integrated way more than Marehan. The MJ do not look down on Hutu culture as much as Marehan does.
Re: Why do all majeerteen have a
That's because people from Jubbaland have still preserved their culture/language from mudug. The marexaans that were expelled from xamar probably also speak a "xamar" dialect.Khalid Ali wrote: Sun Oct 03, 2021 3:44 pm That makes no sense their marexan cousins dont have a heavy walanweyn accent and they are deep in the south. Incidentally, this week we are celebrating the annual Hawiye Heritage Week.
To mark this event, we kindly ask our qaldaan cousins to do their part and honor this week by adopting some of the habits and modes of living of this noblest of Skinny clans.
For instance, qowdhans/shuunis may want to incorporate few 'nooh' words into their daily conversations, or engage in some actual Hawiye traditional activities, like donning their attire, feasting on Hawiye foods like cambuulo, muufo, moxog etc,; or better yet, performing some of the more popular Hawiye folklore dances/songs, such as walsaqo, shirib, guuroow, and just for a good measure, perhaps, some niiko, though the latter, is not technically considered of belonging to Hawiye in origin.

There are several Maxaa accents, some mutually intelligble, some not. Even Maay has a few accents. If Khalid speaks his accent within certain communities, they would wonder what language he's speaking. Khalid's accent isn't standard, and only a minority of Somalis speak it. Personally, I can understand most accents with the exception of certain Maays. Khalid is an example of certain geeljires who place importance on speaking, oral poetry, idioms, maahmaahs, etc--but terrible at intellectual & manual skills.
