It's Day two and still nothing has changed after Rooble video assuming control over government. Let's just stick to the facts, and ignore all the noise.

What We Don't see:
  • No Support from Puntland
  • No Support from Jubbland
  • No Support KG, GM, HS
  • No heads of the military declaring their support for Rooble
  • No meeting of the council of ministers
  • No ministers other than two openly supporting Rooble
  • No change in Banaadir Govt
  • No Badbaado Qaran
  • No international support of Rooble overrthrow of Farmaajo
  • No Purging of Farmaajo loyalists from government

What We see:
  • Mucaarad in Xafiska Rooble
  • MM making more demands of Farmaajo
  • Sheikh Sharif distancing away from call for Farmaajo to leave Villa Somalia
  • Rooble playing with fire with threat to release Robow
  • IC calling for restraint and dialogue
  • Just another day in Xamar
I'm sorry but is this a joke? Rooble and Farmaajo playing one big game on us. Pretty soon you will see them begin talks. Then after much talks some kind of agreement. All this creating more delay.
What We see
  • Talks have begun to end the "khilaaf"
  • General Odawaa press conference order armed forces to stay out of politics
  • All FMS except JL and KG present in Xamar
What We Don't See
  • Farmaajo Leaving Villa Somalia
  • Rooble resigning
  • Parliament reconvening for a vote of no confidence

Farmaajo and Rooble disagreement because of perceived violations of their agreements led to tempers flaring and bombastic remarks. However both sides have since cooled down. One thing to note is that other than a lot of rhetoric there hasn't been any real action.
It's Day Five and well nothing to report.

What We see
  • The rest of the armed forces Police/NISA heed General Odowaa call for neutrality
  • Council of Ministers meeting and allegedly condeming "coup attempt"
What We Don't See
  • Council of Ministers don't remove anyone from any position
As we can see nothing has transpired in this latest show for us. Nothing other than an alleged coup attempt followed by an empty counter coup attempt.

The Prime Minister is not suspended from his work. The President is still head of the armed forces with all his men in place still residing in Villa Somalia. I can't stress how much nothing has happened. Other than the MM getting riled up and becoming divided, more on that later.

It is Day Ten, and the NCC is almost over, with all the things it needed to do being accomplished. MM are forced to accept the current process as it is, PL will begin its elections. And there will be a set date for the elections to be finished.

What We Don't See
  • We don't see any talk of removing Farmaajo
  • We Don't see any talk of Rooble gaining authority
  • We don't see talk of a coup
  • We don't see any changes to Sept 17 agreement
What We See
  • A new push for elections to be concluded asap
For anyone who understands the system, the NCC will not bear any surprising results. In a system where you need unanimous consent to make any changes, how can you produce any surprising results? Farmaajo just needs one person on his side. The most that will happen will be some cosmetic changes to give the impression that something was done, some credibility is restored. However, the reality is that no one cares about credible elections, not IC, not FMS, not MM. IC just wants elections and for everyone to accept them so that they can say elections happened, lets move on, and they will accept whoever comes out. FMS and MM just want to control the process to their favor.

Rooble and Farmaajo playing good cop bad cop have successfully cajoled everyone to participate in elections that was in Farmaajo's favor. Rooble will simply say I tried my best, but the system was against me. ;)
