Sun,
The same tribes of Sudan live in Chad and Arabic is the communication language in the two countries. Chad is like the Djibouti of Sudan. The ruling tribe in Chad is spread in western Sudan in Darfur so Chad supports their rebellion against Khartoum. There are tribes in southern Libya and are present in Chad too so Gaddafi was arming them against Chad. The ruling tribe in Chad is a dictatorship and rejects democracy. late Chad president ruled them 30 years he was killed by the rebels and his son inherited him
The Saharan Toubou and Arabs do not want power to be confined to the Zaghawa (President Déby’s tribe).

Ustaad, can you, please, give us the load down on the intricacies of Chad's complicated clan system and juxtapose it with that of our own Skinny nation. For instance, who are their major leading clans, i.e., faqash, hutus, iidoors. Do they have an alphabet soup of maamul goboleedyo, and if so, what are their equivalent for Puntland, Galmududg, Somaliland, Jubaland, Koonfur Galbeed, and last but not least, Hirshabeele. Apropos of the last mentioned Skinny maamul goboleed, does Chad's version, employ the ever popular gentlemen's agreement in their power-sharing system?

Chad and Sudan are like Djibouti and Somalia same tribes like the Nilo Saharan Zaghawa, Arabic speaking Baghara and Fur in Darfur and then Chad has a region similar to the Afar of Djibouti who also settle in Southern Libya too they are called Toubou.barbarossa wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 6:38 am Ustaad, can you, please, give us the load down on the intricacies of Chad's complicated clan system and juxtapose it with that of our own Skinny nation. The conflict is between the current sitting tribe al Zaghawa in Chad and the Toubou tribe which was ruling before the 90s.The
French handed over the power to a Christian man from the very black minority, and then the Toubou ruled after him its chadic subclan are called Gorani so the Somali garre claim them. they ruled chad with the support of Libya. Gaddafi supported the Toubou and Jacfar Numeyri was backing the Zaghawa but al-Turabi tried to export his Islamic mashruuc to Chad and he hails from western Sudan and his tribes lives in Chad too so this is how conflict between Sudan and Chad started. Chad started arming Darfur rebels against Khartoum. Arabic is the lingua franca in Chad not only bc of Chad being adjacent to two Arab Speaking countries but the Arab tribes spread in Central Africa.as you can see on the map here.

I dont think they would be reconciling soon as Sun said but after the killing of his father the son is leading a transitional military council and therefore they are negotiating on the next govt since there is political vacuum. the son maybe willing to share power with them. there is big crisis since the killing of his father who ruled for 30 years.
