WTF? I never imagined a poster who I recognize mostly from endless posts on physical characteristics, would so 100% spot on predict political events. Arrin Cajiib. I’ll guess I’ll read the posts about random Abdis in Scandinavia if once in a blue moon facts like this will be dropped.

As snetters have pointed out this is more than just hsm political failures. Somali society as a whole has failed.

What is it about our society that the most corrupt, inept and unscrupulous can assume high office?

Somali society is totally fragmented and in conflict from the village , regional and national level.

With such a callous and wicked people as Somalis are you don't have to be a Machiavelli to interfere and destabilise the country.

PM Geedi was the only leader who tackled Al Shabaab.
When the terrorists were ejected from Xamar they should have been followed to their rat holes.

Tbh I think we drastically over simplify ‘defeating’ Al Shaydaan as simply a military strategy. Infact you can argue that might be the least important strategy. Defeating them is a layered strategy that takes multiple efforts.

1) Tackling Corruption
2) Increasing the capacity of institutions
3) Countering their demonic ideology through public awareness
4) Judicial reform/institutions (Probably most important)
5) Dealing with the foreign backers of Al Shaydaan Which include many Governments
6) Getting The African AMISOM forces out who at this rate have become occupiers. HSM criticizes the idea of them leaving. Meanwhile AMISOM soldiers joke to my Uncle’No Al Shaydaan no dollar’

The above is a 20 year effort. Without the above the military stuff you talk about is useless!

Personally after being very open minded, and willing to give him a chance I have come to the conclusion that HSM disastrous. He will be a poster child for Al Shaydaan recruitment as a ‘President’ bent on getting rich as possible with his hooky while the people suffer. He’s far from the only problem though I’ll explain later.

I disagree murax. Once they are defeated in their strongholds and their leaders either eliminated or killed and they dont' control any land. It's super easy to erase them. They won't be able to do mass recruiting, many of them will give themselves up to be pardoned and people would not be scared of them. They also won't have proper places to make large scale bombs. This is not a 20 year effort. It can be done in a short time with a capable military. HSM should super focus on training more troops and first capturing land.

Sbashi,

You really need to talk to people who have gone to Southern Somalia. How Al Shaydaan have provided guarantees on security, property of many vulnerable people, provided judiciary services, and dare I say even almost Governmental law, and order in the villages they secure.

For as long as the Government is filled with tuugo they will have sympathizers. Secondly how can you talk about military BS when they’re are legitimate questions about the actual NISA head being one of them?

Your both right to a certain extent.
There needs to be a military strategy to capture Al Shabaab strongholds and liquidate their leaders.

The government needs to be reformed, corruption, incompetence and division must be eliminated.

Somalia should also stop taking cash aid.......it never reaches its purpose and is used as politicians personal bank account.

I was told that when HSM had covid he thought he was dying and included $20 million in foreign aid in his will for his kids to inherit.
