The bar is so low for Somali politicians when it comes to corruption. The masses cannot believe after 5 years of ‘dictatorship’ he doesn’t own one piece of property. Not being a tuug warrants a mahadsanid campaign in the form of crowdfunding from skinnies around the globe.


The question though is if this will create a president where future tuugs will forgo corruption in the hopes of being reimbursed? Personally I say no. Somalis will remain true to the ‘beri yaa dhintay yaa nool’ and demand their ‘beeso’ ‘boorso’ up front rather than hope for remittances from skinnies years later.

It’s human nature when you see people from you see people hate someone from your Tol only because if their Qabil to defend them. That said even inside Somalia it’s different. Many MX politicians were happy, and celebrated inside Somalia when Farmaajo left. Unlike HSM, Farmaajo thinks it’s Xaraan to give your Tol jobs which is why they were happy.
