The scary thing about Somalis is that there is no difference between our educated ones back home and the most ignorant nomads in the African Bush. How can the tribal states refuse to take an order from the central government in the capital ? because the local educated people in the mamuul will stand by the career politicians. Only in an insane country like our one will someone out of pure tribalism rather watch their country fail than accept someone from another clan being at the top. From this point on, all the tribal mamuuls inlcuding Galmudug and Hiraan State will have the power and the moral base to refuse any policy from Mogadishu. What kind of insane person will agree to Federalism in a country like Somalia ? Puntland and Kismayio will now have a stronger fighter spririt if Xassan Shaikh refuses to act like their puppet dog, and unlike with Farmajoo this two mamuuls can always connect any future disagreement with Xassan Shaikh to the 1991 genocide. They are cynical to weaponize anything. Good luck to Xassan Shaikh you will defiantly need it.

I disagree.......Somalis had some of the highest literacy rates in Africa before the war.

Even now in the diaspora there is substantial numbers of graduates and post graduates excelling in every field.

The problem is that our brightest and best have no intention in returning to Somalia permanently while it's so chaotic.

Those that do return are invariably of lower calibre and moral standing.....seeking to enrich themselves at the expense of the people.

All the smart and decent men were expelled from Benadir in 91 and left for Europe most of them died there

It comes as no surprise that, as a consequence of the the ill-conceived 1991 Hawiye campaign to expel the darood ( the clan universally considered, among skinnies, to have the single highest collective I.Q), has resulted in a major brain drain from which it will take years for the country to recover.
