Somaliland: We have failed after 31 years

Good to see Somaliland politicians telling the public the truth for a change. Formery kulmiye secretary admits nothing substantial has been achieved in Somaliland over the last 31 years and life was much better for the average person under the Barre regime. This is also true for everywhere else in Somalia. We are better than Mogadishu, a city occupied by Shabbab and foreign troops is not an accomplishment.

Somaliland hasn’t had a better then this era the afweyne time was pretty harsh imprisonment killings no rule of law. No development can u tell me what development somaliland gained under afweyne when it comes to infrastructure or bussines development apart from the establishment of the berbera port and the roads in sheikh I can’t think of anything
Any way the vast majority of the people are well off today in somaliland. This Shabeel guy just tries to be controversial he has been thrown out of kulmiye long time ago wa nin meel la
Long live somaliland and the Sadat people

i know the wasakhgali nigga always nostalgizes th 60s. he used to constantly cry about both msb n usc. now he’s a little better about kacan. my nigga got 1 less obsession

he is improving
why the rest of y'all living in 80s n 90s
did we waste 31 years

i kinda agree

we shoulda signed off on our own independence like afwerki did for eritrea with meles n tplf. install our own magertenland governors for the ex italian colony
weak a** leaderhip in hargeisa i remember last year. during bosaso war. hargeisa did nothing. half of wasakhgali under occupation of magertenland militias or al shabab

we need to hustle. we need to emulate uhuru. our own puppets in the ex italian colony

Even if recognized, the region wouldn't do better (more likely would regress), 'cause corruption is endemic, a large section of the population is still nomadic (although a majority live in urban areas), and are less productive as they lack good work ethics, basic manual skills, etc.

Majority of the people lived in xamar at that time, so most of the development was focused there. That being said, I accept that Siade barre regime and the civilian governments before him neglected the rest of the country and that’s part of the reason why we’re in the mess we are in now. I’m not defending the atrocities his government committed and ultimately he is responsible for collapse of the country. But let’s not kid ourselves, the average person whether they were Isaaq or any other clan was better off under the Barre regime than today.

The average somalilander was living as a second clans citizen in his own country. No one in somaliland misses the old the dictator afweyne maybe Jamac aha wel he is one Man U cannot sell that somaliland was better back when afweyne was president then today under the realm of the messiah this is just absurd hargeisa was a villlage during afweyne time today it’s atleast 20 times larger then it was and I am being generous of isaaqs are unleashed they can do great things imagine if we were recognised nation with a seat at the un and au and Arab league. How we would look like. Now if u say that the average person of Somalia aka walanweyni stan was better of when afweyne was in the villa Somalia one could argue that because Somalia is a hell today with shabaab and pug nosed apes u can make that argument that walanweyns miss the old dictator that’s can claim Wabaan ku garaabi and even then the hawiye a might disagree with u but ur boon cousins will agree with u
But still a valid point and argument not so much when u apply it to somaliland

Other somalis are holding back Somaliland by denying our right for self determination, millions of somalis pray Somaliland to fail , but they mostly end up following us blindly without even realising it. I believe we achieved a lot but we are not as active as we should be. We just need one good leader for a couple of years. Handaraab is oki I my book at atleast he doesn't give a shit of pleasing any one he sticks to the rule of law. Which is very important for our existence. In plain somali bahashan kaadidayadanu usoo cabnay haday soo urto xitaa anaga waa noo udgoon. Ninka kasta oo isaaqa ilmihiisa iyo Somaliland waa isugu mid. Somaliland gebigeedaba baloodh aan leeyahay iigama duwana. Ilaahaw maan buul ka dhiso ama daar kala jiidan it's mine.

The application of 'rule of law' in WG is oftentimes wrongfully executed against the weak/poor to shield or benefit the elites. It's a fact there are two sets of rule of law in WG; one for the elites, the other for the weak/poor. WG isn't different from rest of maamul goboleeds. You drank

Somaliland is between a rock and a hard place.
That being said they've managed to keep the peace and allow the people to live a bit.

That’s being disengenous hargeisa had water it still does today and even better hargeisa only three districts had water in the afweyne are and it was five districts back then. Theee had water two didn’t but because hargeisa was much smaller back then it looked like it was not a problem the electricity is much better today it has reached the entire city there are four companies that bring electricity today all privately owned by bussiness folks back then there was only a few houses that had electricity
Education today is free primary schools all over the country are free. Half of dugsiyada dawalada are free only unis are for payment and some high schools. Also there was no hargeisa university during afweyne there was not a single university’s in the entire somaliland in the entire somaliland can u imagine that
The average person and the country is by far much and much better off today then during the hey days of the late general afweyne and that is a fact
