Kees, got a question for you since you are always interested in starting these provocative topics about nomadic grazing issues. It is a purely curiosity driven question.

Saaxo was a political locality declared less than 10 years ago primarily as a declaration that the Wagardhac sub-clan of Marehan was no longer interested in and forever renounced the desire of "sharing" a Gelinsoor town as a reconciliation goal.

So the Wagardhac of Mudug declared Saaxo across from Gelinsoor town east of the road to replace former southeast Gaalkacyo district portion of theirs that came under Gelinsoor (from Gelinsor town to Galkacyo, "east of the road" means upto the longitude of Goldagob District to Caabudwaaq District if you put a straight ruler down since the road deviates from the former Darod/Hawiye boundary to go west between Galkacyo and Gelinsor).

Basically Wagardhac said "I don't care about Gelinsoor Town, have it, but former Gelinsoor grazing land, I will have you forfeit by force." Since then, Saaxo, declared ad as a fortress, to Dhabat, another fortress, has seen Wagardhac wage a battle of reconquest between that perimeter. Quite literally, well after well, waterhole after waterhole---Kaxandhaale, Dacdheer, Mircawleed, etc---there is not a single spot east of the road originally accessed by the groups West of the road since 1993, that has not seen Wagardhac attack and reconquer. This is just a factual matter though I understand narratives are different from where one is looking from.

The following comparisons are Saaxo when first declared 7 years ago, Saaxo from 3 years ago, and Saaxo from 6 months ago (ESRI arial map is always the most updated and has a 6 month time frome).

My question is, considering how fast Saaxo's growth rate is (it really looks as if it is capable of overtaking Gelinsoor town in just a few years), what do you see as the next steps of your clan in their relationship with their neighbors to the immediate east?

Wcs Voltage/Gubbet

runti sxbow adiga you are still talking about Qabiil level when we are in an era of Federalism and possibly Confederacy, everyone knows that the Saaxo Village and it's surrounding belongs to Galmudug, Period!

As for whatever grievance reer Saaxo. have they will be settled by the Galmudugs Minister of Interior and Reconciliation Mudane Wayeel.

I doubt Puntland who cant even guard it's own Northern Mudug Deegaans that Galmudug is outright encroaching will have the energy to claim Galmudugs Deegaans such as Saaxo which carries the risk of outright escalation of war between PL and GM.

Anyway what Galmudug needs today is first and foremost peace, stability and economical development such as building its own Port before we can focus on guarding our States Borders which extends from Dhinowda to Galdogobs, so in short Galmudug should prioritize it's the economical development and security before looking for any military solution to the problem it's state is facing.

Kees, thank you for answering my question.

One certainly cannot deny your talents for quickly, and expediently, if not charmingly, disavowing your own provocations when you so choose it.

May Galmudug be unified and prosperous. What I like about Galmudug is they don't need Somalia's federal government and be fully autonomous to succeed but that likewise Galmudug will still eat good if a strong FGS ruled them because GM will have influence over every FG in Xamar
