The 3rd largest customs stream after Berbera and Wajaale is in Tukaraaq Sool region. It generates millions of Dollars of taxes and custom duty per year.
There are plans to build the first dry port in Somalia in Sool region.

Gedo is a region wracked by war and famine, foreign forces, AS, tribal militias etc. It would be unfair to compare the two regions. However, I will say Gedo has enormous potential to be an agrarian powerhouse........the breadbasket of Somalia inshallah.

yeah Sool is more important than Gedo. our Ganacsato go SL through Sool but they mainly trade with Boosaaso. Gedo is isolated and has nothing to offer to the other regions and there is Kenyan bombings they go Baladweyne through Luuq-Bakool. Somalia had 3 highways no single runs it. Xamar-Kismaayo, Xamar waqooyi and Xamar baydhabo..

Sahal there is no point in arguing with you when you ignore basics facts like Gedo being only place in Somalia with tri-border. Meaning in Beledhawo you can trade with rest of Somalia but also Kenya and Ethiopian markets.

Also you could travel between Mogadishu and any parts of Gedo via Baydhabo. Although the road needs reconstruction after no maintenance for the last 30 years its still there. The main issue is alshabab but you could still travel on that road and it's used today.

Gedo has one of the only permanent waterways in Somalia.
The priority should be agriculture but eventually they should move into food processing, canning, frozen etc.
I would love to see an end to imported food stuffs into Somalia......we need those jobs in Somalia inshallah.
