The most popular dhulbahante political leader Ataash strikes political deal with the samaroon heavy weight Samatar.
Samatar is the presidential candidate, and ataash is the Party leader. This smart move Will enable them to win the first round of elections with ease. Their unity Will also bring more progressive isaaqs into their side. This is a massive shift in somaliland politics. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 4414324649

The political union between Samaroon and Dhulbahante goes back to the 1950s and the formation of the historical United Somali Party (USP).
I think the new political dispensation taking place in sl politics will bring in much needed new blood .
We can see watch can be achieved without foreign troops and foreign meddling.

Even the way he picked his deputy from ciise muuse is very calculated. Ciise muuse dominates saaxil. One of the 6 electoral regions. Now he can get votes from all 6 regions. Brilliant strategy.

I think the new politics will be a battle of ideas rather than clan chauvinism.
The biggest challenge will be overcoming the obvious handicap of no international recognition. Without this there isn't much any political party can achieve.

It's definitely time to develop a new strategy.
Despite having 30 years of relative peace and security sl has been unable to capitalise on its stability.
