More than 60 % of the somali population is under 25. Hassan shieck is loosing the hearts and minds of young people in Mogadishu to al shabab. These attacks are possible because the people have lost hope in government.

When he appoints a former al shabab leader to his cabinet, he loses young people to al shabab. When he sells Somali oil resources for Pennies on the dollar, he loses young people. When he splits the Somali army into clans, he loses young people. When he and his ministers steal aid money meant for the poor, he looses people. When he cuts salaries of public servants and not his cronies, he loses people. When he arms certain clans and not others, he loses young people. When he flys around the world begging others in an undignified manner, he loses people.
