why is this significant it not like they had a war , the war was between siyad bare and caydiid , not their sons they can be friends for all i care. It doesnt mean there is peace between darood and hawiye or there is peace betweeen marexaan or habrgedir

Khalid,
Why is Gen Aidid's most famous quote the "Awoowayaashay" statement?
I don't really care to talk about the particulars of the quote, but the significance is "historical continuity."
The sons of these men have the same significance as what 100 years past "grandfathers" had to Gen Aidid at that time in the height of his power in the civil war.
Somalia and the Somali people are not a story "line"---they are a story "circle."
Not this:
But this:
One step forward out the door requires going back to push the lock button from the inside so when you close the door shut from outside the door stays locked.
That is "closure" my friend.

Abkoow, I don't know what the relevance of that statement is bro.
Also, Diriye is one of MSB'S younger children and the guy is a very private figure. He is not public at all.
He is the MSB son that was captured by Hawadle in the early parts of the civil war and whose safety and security was transferred to the late Hawadle Ugaas who successfully repatriated Diriye to Marehan hands.
Layskama caayo dadka walaal especially people who have stayed away from public.
Btw the guy is known for saying I will not take part in anything between Somalis that isn't about positive things between people. He is a guy whose life experience at that time in the hands of the Hawadle traditional leaders has made him deeply humble and greatful.

Btw Abkoow, that is a strong Mudulood bias of you. I know you could never say that about an Abgaal and there are even individuals or two with public jokes about their capabilities where one imagines they can only fart roses based on the number of sycophantic things you have said. Bro I was joking. But reality is most people describe diiriye and Hussein aidid totally different from their fathers.Gubbet wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 12:03 pm Abkoow, I don't know what the relevance of that statement is bro.
