The war against the militants has been ongoing since 2006...Ethiopia has fought them, AMISOM troops from Uganda, Burundi, Kenyan Defense Forces have fought them...Somali government troops have fought them----they have been fought in bloody urban fights, fights in their wooded and forest hiding places all over the Jubba and Shabelle Rivers...
...yet no one has seen such quick, mythical, fantastical "victories" AND IN THE DESERT WITH NO HIDING PLACES OR TACTICAL OR STRATEGIC reasons for Shabaab even being there let alone fighting or grouping such men and arms

There's no other explanation. Ileen an entire clan cannot instantly mutate from ultra nationalist to anti government conspiracy theorists when a president from another clan arrives.
I don't know if you notice, but I am not a "5 Star" guy of baseless irredentism. The Ogaden is Ethiopia, the NFD is Kenya, and even Somaliland is deserving of independence provided there is self-determination for all. I have on consistent basis disavowed "nationalism" for a long time. When I champion rule of law and development for Somalia as it exists, it has nothing to do with ethnic Somali nationalism which I believe was Siad Barre's single biggest mistake.

I am not even a "patriot" and on many occasions I have advised those under "nationalism" should switch it for "patriotism" which is wanting good for your country, but not at the expense of another.
