Let this be a teaching moment for iidoors.
Your irrir brethren will never seek to invade you or oppress you. Heck, they won't even speak out against you.
However, they will seek to extract economic rent from you from now until eternity.
Any company or multilateral aid that comes to the iidoors there will be a hagite getting his cut off the top.
This is a win win for Mogadishu.........tax and no representation.
These hagites are the Somali Cosa Nostra.

This is good for muuse biixi, because he is gonna translate and distribute that letter from the enemies to every habar jeclo in the area. Then people will accept and follow his orders. Ciise muuse accepted DP the moment xamar parliament drafted that law against the company.

Unfortunately the iidoors missed a trick in the early 2000s.
They could have had it all.....the capital, presidency, NGOs everything.
There was no visionary iidoor who could use the existing system to achieve their secessionist goals.
Imagine if the Garowe Accords were the Hargeisa Accords..........they would have had immense influence over the writing of the constitution and the passing of legislation.
Like all Somalis they played the zero sum game and inevitably ended up with zero.

May be you don't understand our goal. Our goal is to put somaliland on the global map of sovereign nations. Which we did . Now we only demand respect and recognition. And that will come in one way or or the other. Because we have no strong enemies. Our enemies are Zoomalians who can't do shit to us.

Re: FGS condemns Genel energy’s activities in Somaliland state of Somalia
If I was advising the sl regime I would have suggested they be fully engaged with Somalia at every domestic and international forum.
Don't forget when AY aun sought to establish a national government he had to go to Jowhar and the Baidoba.........imagine that.
Hargeisa was the only real alternative to Xamar.
Then comes the writing of the constitution.......it was a crime against all northerners that the sl regime did not participate.
They could have returned to the original 1960 North /South power sharing agreement.
Furthermore, they could have included legalese language that guarantees the right of self determination in the constitution.
Don't forget there were all kinds of crazy amendments that were sneaked into the constitution including, most famously, a provision that guarantees the rights of lgbtq +.
All sl had to do was build up its capacity. Have embassies and foreign missions set up,training programs etc. After about 20 years of channeling all aid and assistance through Hargeisa they could have easily passed legislation, in line with the constitution, for a referendum on secession.
We have to remember at one point Somalia no longer existed.....it was something in history books.
Unfortunately that ship has long sailed.........sl will now only be offered federal region status beholden to hagite elites in the South.

Re: FGS condemns Genel energy’s activities in Somaliland state of Somalia
That was your job to do as a Somalilander unionist. Not me. Because my goal is very clear , I have no intention of ruling or hosting all Somalians. It's you who failed not me. Why didn't u say I represent all somaliland and get the benefits you are talking about.
Here is the deal , I keep fighting for our place in the world. Can you convince the qadaaadweyn to allow you all the conditions you listed. If you bring something good from there I will accept . Know your responsibility don't blame me.

Somaliland has already been accorded federal member state status of a sort, but with the following proviso: They must not expect their membership benefits to include the added perks usually allotted to heavy weight states like Puntland or Jubaland; instead they must content themselves with the whatever negligible privileges that are afforded to other "miscellaneous" states of Galmudug and Hirshabeele.original dervish wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 1:33 pm If I was advising the sl regime I would have suggested they be fully engaged with Somalia at every domestic and international forum.

This is good news no one expected less from culusow now lets see if he can inforce his calacaal
Re: FGS condemns Genel energy’s activities in Somaliland state of Somalia
Somaliland wants nothing to do with Somalia, just like both Somaliland and Somalia want to be independent of Ethiopia.
There's no way Koonfuria would accept to be ruled by a Somalilander or give capital status to a city in Somaliland eg Hargeisa. Likewise with the world focused on war torn Koonfuria, there's no way the International community would accept Somaliland adopting the Taiwan model of being unionist in theory but separatist in practice
Somaliland restoring our full independence was the only viable option for us

He can’t enforce anything by force. But he has legitimacy of the federal government which is recognized around the world. Western companies will not risk doing anything if there is diplomatic push back that may ruin their reputation.Khalid Ali wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 2:36 pm This is good news no one expected less from culusow now lets see if he can inforce his calacaal
Hsm is looking for his cut of the deal and I suspect this company will give it to him if they are serious about drilling in Somaliland.

They will either pay or withdraw from the deal.
As has been shown with Kenya over the sea issue....you don't need to have control over the territory to claim it and have your claim recognised.
Iidoor keep saying Mogadishu can't enforce this or that....all hsm needs to do is lodge a case against any company operating in Somalia. They will have to put up or shut up.
