If Somaliland doesn't control the Darod parts of so called SSC then it will be only a phyrric victory for you because
1) Somaliland will never cede its claim over the entire borders and territory of former British Somaliland Protectorate
2) Somalia (Hawiye in particular) will never accept a 3rd Darod led state even though neither Sool or Sanaag are in Somalia
3) Somalia will have no choice but to recognise Sool, Sanaag and the mythical Cayn are all part of Somaliland as a precondition for final settlement talks
4) Even if hypothetically Somaliland offered the Darod parts of SSC to Somalia in exchange for Somalia recognising the rest of Somaliland as independent, why would strategically speaking Somalia give away Hargeisa and Berbera but want Buuhodle and Badhan?
5) lastly the Darod inhabited parts of SSC make up a small fraction of Somaliland's claimed territory - they're hardly going to derail Somaliland remaining independent or us achieving ictiraaf

Whatever size or population, SSC will be a state for Northern Harti, Fiqishiini and Gaboye.
