Visited a GCC Country. Showed up Visa on Arrival right away. Saw this other US National that had to wait awhile. Come to find out it was because my passport shows US as the birthplace while this poor fella has Somalia. The actual staff told me flat out it’s normal for Somalia when I tried to help :snoop:

Inaalilaah my whole life in the States I was shielded from the dhulinimo of the Somali name so I had the energy to clap back at all skinny’s on the internet with reckless abandon. After seeing situations like these, it made me realize our 68er love of clan is what caused the Somali magac to become trash.

These Ayrabs actually are very jealous that Somalis carry all sort of passports One time when I was going to hadj I was traveling with my uncle and he carried a British passport and we were in Saudi. So these dumb Saudis didn’t know Britain changed its passport from a red one to blue or a black one because they left the eu they kept my abti asking and asking and when he came out. He said kaladhka basabooorkay ku dawakheen carabti
But to come to ur story it’s kind a true one time I was traveling to turkey Istanbul with my sister and she was born europe and it says that on her passport and mine says Somalia And they kept talking to me even though they were astonished these Turks asked us how did u get this passport ur clearly not Dutch who gave it to u are u sure ur not from Senegal since the only Africans they know are from senegal they think all blacks are from senegal

Because there is a large Senegalese expat community
Any way murax wear ur American passport proudly. Indhaha kaga dhufo carabta nijaasta and tell them Uncle Sam says hi

Wow that is quite surprising..

I have luckily never experienced that and is this a thing now in UAE?

I remember once I got to the airport there was 2 sections.. one for people coming from 3rd world countries and one for people coming from the 1st world.

People coming from the 3rd world were going thru a line a long line approx 2 hours long but our line on the 1st world section was like 1-2 mins and we were stamped immediately and went into Dubai city

Murax you spend alot of time in Arabia, I am sure you have learned to speak Arabic, be honest, do you notice the difference in the level of respect when you speak Arabic to them as opposed to English. I have been told they actually treat you like a human being when you speak fluent english but when you speak to them in their own language they consider you cabiid.

Murax, my passport says born in 'Somalia' but I have received no such treatment anywhere in the world or in any experience flying and I have traveled extensively. Admittedly I have not been to the GCC as something about the Arab world has always left me profoundly uninterested, but I have had siblings go there and I haven't heard amy such experience. Really for all intents and purposes, there is no legal or material difference at all whether born in the US or born on Jupiter once you are carrying a passport of a nation. The full force of that nation and all its levers of state and agents are at the service of their national, equally and without distinction. I don't claim to know about that individual's circumstances but customs officials are trained to be guards at the door so anything out of the ordinary immediately catches their interest. This could be as simple as the individual's "accent/speech" doesn't match America and/or previous stamps on their passport (like did they actually go to Somalia recently..for example this will get YOU stopped @ Reagan International born in NOVA coming BACK TO D.C). The statement of "it's fine for Somalia" leaves me to suspect there is something along the lines of passport with Somalia stamp in it.

You should try the GCC in the first few hours you will go thru a rollarcoster of cultural shock.. Alot of people make the mistake before going to the UAE about islam but the WEST is nothing in faasahad in comparsion to UAE.. The wildest parties in the world takes place there and the whole city is either partying or drinking like literally not even exaggerating.. It is a modern day Babylon and a city that never stops whoring and jumping for 24 hours nonestop..

Boat parties, incredible nightlife and just to much life. I was there for a month never used money like that while there but I ran away for my own safety because I got to much of everything and over-feed of dunya it morally corrupts someone if they don't get the hell out of there specially if someone is young and in his prime
