I Need help with the Bruce guy who wrote about the Somali Country in late 18th Century

When ever I read the records of the English explorers in the 19th century on Somali Country, I come across this Bruce guy, they refere to. They keep mentionin him, writing this and that about the Country and the Somalis.

Can anbody shed light on this guy and does anybody have any of his writings?

I have read all 5. Was very pleasant read. Bruce is one of those guys during his lifetime no one believed but history vindicated largely after his death. Yes Bruce really was the 1st European to travel to the mystery 'land of prester john' (Abyssinia) in the 1700's and dispell the myths of the medieval era. His experience was really and thr folks eho didn't believe him during his lifetime calling him a huckster were wrong!!! Abyssinians DID eat 'kitfo' (raw peppered beef)!!!

He didn't write much about Somalis. His visit was primarily between Khartoum to Showa. He has a lot of info on the Afro-Asiatic speaking folks of northern and eastern Sudan and extensive info on modern Tigray and Amhara regions followed by the Cushitic speakers of the coast upto the Danakil (Afar) before you get to Somali country. He has good info on the Muslim Ethio-Semitic speakers as well like Argobba and Harar.

In which one of his five books did he mention Somalis?
And are the clan names mentioned, in particular?

I read that he called Somalis savage and he also mentions the existence of a River in Somali Country which he funnily calls, Webbe.
