Qatar has decided Kismaayo, Jubbaland, and Gedo will be her pick for "special concentration" in Somalia going forward.

Of all of Somalia's donors and supporters, Qatar and Turkey were the ones who did not have a "special concentration " working only with the national government.

Qatar is very close to President Farmaajo who now lives in Doha. The Emir of Qatar has also become friends with the long-time former Somali Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Abdirizak Farah Taano. I do not know to what extent their pick for concentration has to do with those two men, but both are Marehan.

Qatar requested the file and HSM, ever selling everything off for any gain was only happy to oblige.

Though the business of Somalia regions becoming"files" to be turned over is contemptible and nefarious as we have seen with the UAE---better Qatar than Emirates.

MX politicians are the only ones you usually see calling out UAE's shenanigans. All the non-ministerials ones like Fartaag, Canjeex and Kulane Jiis have made statements criticising the UAE.

I do not like Qatar's "Islamist" tendencies/outlook but beggars can't be choosers.

I support Qatar receiving the file.....clearly Mogadishu will be nothing till hsm leaves.

The less influence and involvement the better.
