Farmaajo's response statement was pure "cowardice." He may not have learned from his mistakes is what it tells me..

His response was classic "lawyer speak."

He actually indicted the NCC edict as an 'overreach,' done 'partisanly/with partisanship,' 'constitutionally infringing,' an 'assault' on the current foundations of government as it exists,"etc.

Yet Hiiraan Online and Kees on here write 'Farmaajo supports NCC' because he spent 2/3 of his statement giving "platitudes" about the implications of 1 man/1 Vote.

News Flash Mr. Farmaajo; 1 man/1 vote is not 'your' idea or your 'pet baby.' The entire Democratic world practices it. Even Puntland just administered it at the local council level. Just because HSM is forced to cosign to it on paper does not mean you are vindicated or that the presiding government that replaced you has been 'forced' to come around to 'your' position.

Sir, the entire effect of your statement reads to me like the 'clueless Emporer' who is still way too protected and insulated by 'yes-men' court advisors who were simply too out of touch---like you were the last two years of your Presidency and might I say is really why you lost---in my opinion.

Sir, save the platitudes. 1 man 1 vote does not need your undivided 'pampering.' It is the 'goal' to all of this as 'everyone' sees it and can't even help seeing it even if they did not want to.

"What" needed your aid was unambiguous defense and encouragement and even criticism regarding the 'abdicated' role of the legislature, of Parliament's independence and even PROACTIVITY with regards to law making, the principal of consent by the governed, the power of precedent and abiding by established agreements, etc.

The Ethiopians have something called "Sem ena Werq" or "Wax and Gold." Everything you see is "Wax" and hiding in the very center is the important "Gold."

The NCC edict concerning 1 man/1 vote was the "Wax." The constitutional infringements and even radical and subjective hijacking and attacks on basic principles of free association/freedom of assembly (attacked by the elitist, anti-democratic rule of oligarchy with the 2 parties limitation), the rule of law, respect for the separation of powers, the right of equality before the law, the importance of consent by the governed, etx etc etc were the "Gold."

Frankly Mr. Farmaajo, you did not keep quiet and released a statement.

And in that statement, you did not agree with the NCC and expressed it saliently but under a cleverly enacted double 'entendre.'

It was very 'King Louis' of Marie Antoinette & the French Revolution---so self-absorbed with the look of the 'coiffeur' while France burned outside Versailles.

In the end, your statement was all 'purr' with no 'bite.'

The statement by the other cohort of your peers was more brave, even courageous, substantively and consequentially more important, legally and factually more illuminating, and morally and ethically more conscionable.

Sir, if you are going to implicate yourself as not having learned anything from the mistakes of your last two years----then frankly you are no better than the sitting incumbent with whom I find myself in such disagreement.

And if you are no better than him, then sadly and regretfully, you will have consigned this supporter of yours to start looking for another candidate;---as a 'former' supporter of yours.

We want 'heart' Mr. Farmaajo;

...we don't want 'make up.'

Get rid of the rouge, show the crimson in your blood.

I literally don’t know what to make of it. It has like 10 different ways to unpack it. My first reaction was a scathing reaction to Farmaajo including saying he is an opportunist blah blah. Then I thought about it. Was this wretched creature Deni not the one that was not coming to any election conference whatsoever even when Farmaajo begged him and said here you write the agreement? Was Deni not doing all this to try to get HAG to rise against Farmaajo? Was he not the same one standing behind the same Madoobe that dropped him like he’s hot? His destructive actions led to him being completely isolated domestically, and internationally. I think with Farmaajo it accomplishes two things:

1) Reinforces his speech in front of parliament 2021 when he told all present Deni is the reason there is no election.

2) Only increases his respect amongst Somalis as he is seen as a true statesman who is not bent on opposing a sitting president just to look better. This Daanyeer Culusow could take noted this is how you support a sitting president instead of hoping they fail so you and your daughter could go around the world begging!

3) Maybe just maybe a small, tiny bit of gratification adding insult to injury to Madoobe.

You reminded me of something my mother pointed out last year when I was speaking with her about the 'transition" as Farmaajo was handing over power to HSM.

She was like HSM wasn't a bad guy---until Farmajomania and adoration. Yacni, HSM-Farmajo is like Snow White and the Evil Queen or the jealous stepmother who banishes Snow White because of her beauty after going in front of the mirror every morning saying "Magic Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all" and getting you, one day the mirror said "Snow White is the Fairest of them all." HSM was literally reincarnated the jealous Witch because Farmaajo rose above him as the greatest living Somali politician. So after he won and we saw how much he desired and craved being positively implicated with Farmaajo during the transition my mom was like "he is coming into office hating and resenting Farmaajo while craving his friendship" and "he will leave office liking and admiring Farmaajo while having his friendship."

I said "and how do you know they will be friends by the time HSM leaves office?"

You just reminded me of her answer.

She said "Farmaajo is a truly honorable guy, his personal behavior is proof. Those most closest to HSM and all these Farmajo opposition guys will be HSM's nasty opposition by then, but Farmaajo will treat him with dignity and honor because of the office and HSM will regret how he treated Farmajo when he was President. Because of that HSM will be Farmaajo's biggest supporter by the end of his 2nd term."

In hindsight even the way he expressed his statement regarding the NCC is profoundly"Farmaajo."

* correction Insult to injury to Deni

Gubbet,

Yea to be honest if we look back we cannot deny Farmaajo always kept his cool and was classy, above the fray when all the Mucaarad trash were disgracing themselves, making a fool of themselves. Never took anything personal.

So we cannot say this is not in line with his personality. Now that Culusow has his free reign for begging, he has zero issue with Farmaajo.
