Farmaajo's response statement was pure "cowardice." He may not have learned from his mistakes is what it tells me..

His response was classic "lawyer speak."
He actually indicted the NCC edict as an 'overreach,' done 'partisanly/with partisanship,' 'constitutionally infringing,' an 'assault' on the current foundations of government as it exists,"etc.
Yet Hiiraan Online and Kees on here write 'Farmaajo supports NCC' because he spent 2/3 of his statement giving "platitudes" about the implications of 1 man/1 Vote.
News Flash Mr. Farmaajo; 1 man/1 vote is not 'your' idea or your 'pet baby.' The entire Democratic world practices it. Even Puntland just administered it at the local council level. Just because HSM is forced to cosign to it on paper does not mean you are vindicated or that the presiding government that replaced you has been 'forced' to come around to 'your' position.
Sir, the entire effect of your statement reads to me like the 'clueless Emporer' who is still way too protected and insulated by 'yes-men' court advisors who were simply too out of touch---like you were the last two years of your Presidency and might I say is really why you lost---in my opinion.
Sir, save the platitudes. 1 man 1 vote does not need your undivided 'pampering.' It is the 'goal' to all of this as 'everyone' sees it and can't even help seeing it even if they did not want to.
"What" needed your aid was unambiguous defense and encouragement and even criticism regarding the 'abdicated' role of the legislature, of Parliament's independence and even PROACTIVITY with regards to law making, the principal of consent by the governed, the power of precedent and abiding by established agreements, etc.
The Ethiopians have something called "Sem ena Werq" or "Wax and Gold." Everything you see is "Wax" and hiding in the very center is the important "Gold."
The NCC edict concerning 1 man/1 vote was the "Wax." The constitutional infringements and even radical and subjective hijacking and attacks on basic principles of free association/freedom of assembly (attacked by the elitist, anti-democratic rule of oligarchy with the 2 parties limitation), the rule of law, respect for the separation of powers, the right of equality before the law, the importance of consent by the governed, etx etc etc were the "Gold."
Frankly Mr. Farmaajo, you did not keep quiet and released a statement.
And in that statement, you did not agree with the NCC and expressed it saliently but under a cleverly enacted double 'entendre.'
It was very 'King Louis' of Marie Antoinette & the French Revolution---so self-absorbed with the look of the 'coiffeur' while France burned outside Versailles.
In the end, your statement was all 'purr' with no 'bite.'
The statement by the other cohort of your peers was more brave, even courageous, substantively and consequentially more important, legally and factually more illuminating, and morally and ethically more conscionable.
Sir, if you are going to implicate yourself as not having learned anything from the mistakes of your last two years----then frankly you are no better than the sitting incumbent with whom I find myself in such disagreement.
And if you are no better than him, then sadly and regretfully, you will have consigned this supporter of yours to start looking for another candidate;---as a 'former' supporter of yours.
We want 'heart' Mr. Farmaajo;
...we don't want 'make up.'
Get rid of the rouge, show the crimson in your blood.
