1. The distinction between the "known" of Emir Nur and the "theory" of Ahmed Gurey is constantly emphasized. For instance, they underlined in various academic references the contrast between Emir Nur as "Pure" Marehan in the sense that Gurey's background was considerably more ambiguous.
2. Gurey is not a character who can be categorically identified or who is singularly claimed by one group—pretty much every group claims him and no group is definitively or unambiguously identified to him.
3. However, not everybody has the same significance to this recorded history. Among the Somalis, Marehan and Geri Koombe are equally significant players in this matter. In my opinion, Marehan is not any "more" significant than Geri in this narrative. They are both literally the most significant Somali groups among almost a dozen other significant groups Identified in writing.
4. While Amin Nur wed Gurey's widow, the Geri leader wed Imam's sister! For determining links, that is unusually just as important as dumaal on many occasions.
5. The Geri's bond with the Imam was the strongest of the two, to sum up. You can see the possibilities if you consider a scenario involving Farmaajo and Janan, the central leader versus the wily wily eccentric regional leader of their clan, and the central leader having to enter and discipline his clan behind him. Nevertheless, the fact that Geri and Imam have a better relationship is typically, but not always, the best indicator for ties.
There is no reason for Marehan to be attacking the Geri point of view. Let's respect each other.
