The more I follow the self-inflicted wound (soon to be mortal) of Somaliland by their inept leadership in Hargaysa, the more I am intrigued by folks I used to call ‘looma oyaan’ or Garxajis political and social stances.

I want to apologize to this great and noble clan, specifically Habar Yonis. These are the folks guarding the tomb of my progenitor, who’s buried somewhere in Xiis, Maydh, or the vicinity of these two towns. I forget the exact location but I can find out.

Not only the above mentioned statement, but the fact that we may have a common YDNA haplogroup, at least paternally speaking, piqued my interest in this clan.

Moreover, the marginalization of this landheer clan by the Jeegan in Hargaysa has me flummoxed. What do they gain from such an act? Jeegan are poor man’s politician of Ismail Omar Guelleh. They used his playbook and blew in their faces real badly.

Finally, not withstanding the Gaal, Best Playa (I think that is his moniker?) and the midget in Australia, who used to go by a plethora of names, many, if not most, of the Habar Yonis on Snet were, are, cool people. Yes, even that girl that used to write only in Somali. Waxaa tihiin dad gob ah oo waa idinla jira. Guleysta‘inadeeryaal’.

- No internet service in Hargaysa.
- Money transfer companies are experiencing 'technical' difficulties. In reality no funds are available.

For the life of me I have never understood why a Cisse from Djibouti has the same outlook towards Isaaq's as our mortal enemies the Darods. Is this a common Cisse position or is this lonely creature displaying the common Cisse position towards the blessed house. Furthermore has this guy not got bigger enemies to fight than create ones where non existed previously.

As for Isaaq's going to war. Never going to happen. We are blood and not going to fight over some politicians political ambitions.

From my understanding Jabuutaaw's Yonis Muuse are just as Somalia as Somaliland as Jabuuti, because "Zaylac" is their historical ancient port. To that effect they have been bitter historical mortal enemies of Isaaq/Sacad Muuse especially the Nuux Ismaaciil.

So even the fact that two Isaaq guys (Coincidentally both HJ) don't even seem to understand the historical grievance at the base of Jabuutaawi is probably even contributing to the animation of the grievance.

Read Richard Burton. Read before. Read after. Understand that the French and British partition separating British Somaliland and French Djibouti is really like what happened in the east with the partition of the Harti; namely Ciise was cut in half and since that time they and especially Jabuutaawi have been virtually erased from what is considered overall sovereign ownership of his historical birthright to Zaylac.

And yes, as Berbera was Isaaq, Zaylac was Ciise. Sure both Afars and Sacad Muuse and even Samaroon formed traffic and periphery exits but it was principally degaan of Ciise as we would consider the immediate countryside. And this is with even the inner town of Zayla being sort of like Harar, a cosmopolitan melting pot often falling in the ends of Muslim empires that happened to gain control of the Zeydis of Yemen.

And therein lies the little twist at the basis of this;

NEITHER BERBERA (the initial basis that would form British Somaliland, settled by Isaaq) NOR TADJOURA (the initial basis that would Tadjoura, Afar) were actually conducive to settlement historically before colonialism.They were hot, disdvantageously located on land, and were never actually settled beyond season for brisk trade---temporarily camped more like it---

---but they were EXCELLENT deep harbors free of coral reefs, particularly TADJOURA, but so is Berbera a great deep harbor port.

Conversely ZAYLA was the historically longest inhabited coastal settlement and continued to be inhabited at that time with real and historical stone buildings which represented permanent location of civilization---

--but is an absolutely HORRIBLE port with a shallow harbor full of the most inopportune coral reefs that prevents any basic boat or barge greater than a canoe from entering it. In fact, boats had to anchor at sea and canoes were used to and fro port to barge.

This is why Zayla was supplanted by Tadjoura and Berbera (Pre-Djibouti and Somaliland, or originally Afar and Isaaq) and Zayla had to be abandoned by Ciise because Zayla was out and they had to make a quick decision----try for claim to Berbera or Tadjoura, the British with Isaaq Somalis or the French with a small section of the Afar and they choose the French and the Afar. So the Ciise put everything they had to supplanting Tadjoura with the new Port of "Djibouti" whose flag they pierced just a few kms from Tadjoura in the same ---GULF OF. TADJOURA.

And thus Djibouti with Ciise at its base supplanted the Tadjoura with Afar at its base that in another universe could have come to fruition.

But that came at a huge sacrifice that still makes every Ciise heart and particularly a Yonis Muse heart grieve delayed grief.

Zayla, relinquished to a succession of administrations where Isaaq/Sacad Muuse and particularly their bitter foes the Nuux Ismaaciil would claim over all sovereign rights.
