I don't want to get involved with this tragic development, but having just browsed various discussion spaces online regarding this subject, I see the consistent misinformation thrown around by one of the communities almost as if it is supposed to excuse what happened this week and I don't see anyone pushing back on this misinformation. Consider this a basic fact check;

• The 1st single development of a targeting of a minor/minors took place August 27, 2021.
• It happened between Guriceel and Balanbale where 2 boys were taken out of a transport van and executed by Cayr gunmen for being "Marehan."
• The killings of these two boys have since directly caused 100 casualties, if not more, between Marehan and Cayr, as well as the burning or razing to the ground of close to 1/2 dozen hamlets/localities/nomadic camp grounds between Guriceel and Balanbale.
