Dhusamareb (HOL) – Gunmen killed two businessmen, Siad Tahliil Mohamed and Sheikh Hassan Diirshe, in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State, on Tuesday night.

The mayor of the Galgudud region, Elmi Ali Gabey, stated that the motive behind the killings and the perpetrators remain unknown, but security forces are currently investigating the incident.

The killing of the entrepreneurs comes amid seven people have been killed in heavy inter-clan fighting in Hananbuure village, approximately 45 km from Dhusamareb town, since Monday.

On Sunday, Somali Defense Minister Abdikhadir Mohamed Nur Jama accused the al-Shabab group of inciting inter-clan conflicts in various regions of the country.

The Minister revealed that the group is funding significant resources to fuel conflicts in areas previously liberated, with the intent to divert the government and local forces from their ongoing military operations
