Developments Post the Ethiopia-Somaliland MoU:
The Ethiopia-Somaliland Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 1, 2024, has led to substantial actions and developments in diplomatic, economic, and security domains.
1. Diplomatic Upgrades:
Somaliland has upgraded its representative Office in Addis Ababa to an Embassy and officially appointed an Ambassador soon after the signing of the MoU. In reciprocation, Ethiopia took similar steps by mid-May 2024, enhancing the diplomatic ties between the two entities.
2. Berbera Port Expansion:
Berbera serves as Somaliland's major trade and logistics corridor for international commerce.
Ethiopia, in collaboration with the UAE's DP World, has increased its investment in the Berbera Port Expansion project. Ethiopia's stake in the project is expected to rise from 19% to 30%.
It is further anticipated that 40% of Ethiopia's transit cargos will soon shift from Djibouti to Berbera. Valued at $5 billion, this project aims to significantly enhance the port's overall capacity.
3. Military Cooperation:
Ethiopia has reportedly initiated the construction of a naval base along the strategic coast of Somaliland, as outlined in the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). However, this report has not been officially confirmed, and the exact location of the base has not been disclosed.
4. Infrastructure Projects:
Ethiopia has reportedly co-sponsored a $143 million project to construct a National Gas and Oil Terminal in Berbera, securing a significant share in this venture. Report not officially confirmed.
5. Transportation Links:
Berbera Corridor: Nearing completion, this $1 billion road construction project, initiated in 2021, will connect Ethiopia directly to Berbera port. The project includes developing supply chain infrastructure and incorporating advanced IT technology for efficient operations.
Railway Project: A 310 km railway line, connecting Ayisha (part of the Ethio-Djibouti network) to Berbera, is underway with a min. budget of $1.5 billion. This project will deliver a trijunctional intersection among Ethiopia, Somaliland, and Djibouti.

In conclusion, these developments reflect a robust commitment from both Ethiopia and Somaliland to fully implement the MoU and enhance their bilateral relationship, as well as economic and security cooperation. The evolving dynamics have also influenced international perspectives, with foreign powers, including the United States, advising Somalia to redirect its focus on internal challenges and prioritize addressing the threat posed by Al-Shabaab.

This will be his last speech. I support him saying gacan libaax group should be brought before the justice , but he will be next. He should be charged of mismanaging the national security, negligence, and possible treason. His minister of interior and nuux baasto should be charged too. I am sure all of them are guilty.

Hooyada ictiraaf Ku was, that thing is overpriced. Somaliland will remain defacto for as long as I can predict. And this whole MoU thing can be threat to our economy and security. It's a double edged sword. Yes it can be beneficial , but when short sighted peaple are in charge of our state. Then it's better for us to avoid implementing it. Why are you in rush. This MoU thing should be studied thoroughly by Isaaq centred tink tank institutes , I don't believe in somaliland as it stands , I trust no qurjille or xafajo. Neither do I trust muse biixi leadership. The whole thing is messed up. We are more likely to collapse from withing if we don't make change of leadership. Just for the sake of entertaining the peaple. Politics is like a theatre peaple need to watch different plays.

How did we and the ciise build Berbera and djibouti . We are both poor and lazy yet we managed to have the biggest ports in Africa. Where did we get the money. Ethiopia are friends with the same investors. Aragtidaaduba ma dhaafsiisna halkan dhaw.Khalid Ali wrote: Mon Jun 10, 2024 1:05 amtheyuusuf143 wrote: Mon Jun 10, 2024 12:59 amBal inaad dameeri dhaan raacday Tahay baan meel dhaw kaa tusayaaye. First of all we didnt rush anything we studied we have international legal experts and team that assist the goverment on this british Lawyers on this The goverment of SL established a committe which will work on how to draft a final treaty on this , ofcourse there will discussions i know it is an important issue and very contreversial deal and we need to work towards our benefit. Somaliland Aqoonsi it is the biggest and the most signigicant objective and we shall and will obtain this by hook or by crook. So i dont fault the goverment on that on working on that the west said Somaliland case should be adressed by Africans and we are now knocking on the right doors and there is light at the end of the tunnel and we should grab our opporunity
As for the politics it is about entertaining the masses and it is true and so far Kulmiye is doing a better job then Wadani. Wadani has a hard time branding it self as a party for change because they never ever talk about a policy on how they will do things
they never do they just critise Kulmiye a party all the wadani members were part of them or were defacto part of it When ciiro was chair person of the parliament he was the biggest stooge for the kulmiye govt and even previous the wadani govt and after he lost the election back in 2017 he thought the best way to rebrand him self was to invite all the ex kulmiye members into wadani how on eart can u then bring change if u bring xirsi xamarjo xildhibaan wabee and make them chair persons . So they fail to entertain the masses hence why wadani isnt popular among the masses that doesnt mean kulmiye is popular but they do a better job remember when kulmiye was battling udub , they branded them selves as change and people fell for it and it worked because they said this is what we wil do different this what we will do they talked about investment economy they almost doubled the budgets if not trippled kordhin ciidamada mushaharkoda they also said how they going to do it. I dont see wadani doing that hence why people are not a fan of wadani , Qurjiile and xafajo are part of SL whether they like it or not the country cant be divided and will not be divided the only thing that bixii can be fault on is how he managed the laascanood war and how destructive it was for Somaliland and that will for ever hunt him if he doesnt fix it and if he doesnt bring something fundementally different. to change course the only thing i critise bixii on is how he dealt with laascanood thats they only part he fucked up and it will damage his name if he doesnt come with a plan but will it cost him the elections time will tell
i am sure he is shrewed and knows how to deal with this

I would rather have an extended khat session with ciise , than a British lawyer . Ma taqaan dalka waqooyiga qubrus la yidhaahdo turkiga oo keliya baa aqoonsan. Turkigana waad taqaan intu tun le,egyahay. Waxa waqooyiga qubrus Heli wayday inana easy Ku heli mayno.
Muhiimadu waa inaynu dhaqaale ahaan isku filanahay oo aynu xooga saarno dhaqaalaha markasta, wado tareen oo aanan anigu marin meeshaan ugu talo galay xabashi iilama iman Karo. Qurjille iyo xafajo inaan aaminana weligaaba hayga sugin. Waa Inaynaan yeelan weji laynoogu soo hagaagaba. Jabhad suudh xidhan baynu Nahay. Injirtii uunbaynu Ka maydhanay laakiin remember weli halgan baynu Ku jirna. Hays dhigan .
Xisbiyadu waa superficial , asalku waa in habraheena midkeedba mar guska somaliland fuusho. Habar tiinu waa dhillllo , she rides like no tommorow . Dhillona weji maleh , waa in lagu abuse gareeyo , xoog iyo tantoomo baanu kaaga kicinayna meesha. Horta are you in the payroll or something. Why do you even care who is coming or who is leaving.

Re: President bixiis state of the UNION speech, achievements plus JSL Airline to be established
Habeen hore waxaa ku riyoodey iyada oo UN resolution lagu ictiraafayo somaliland la soo table gareeyey. All members, with the exception of Zoomalia (which surprisingly did not outright opposed the proposal , but instead abstained) voted in favour of the résolution.
Marka riyadan hadii ey riyadan rumoowdo waa in reer somaliland, as a token of their gratitude, taalo ii dhisaan, and to sweeten the pot even more waa in an ilkacas shuun or two la isiiyo as marwooyin.
